Ignoring 32 calls from the Royal Family and fleeing the UK, Harry was unaware that this rash decision would cost him someone he cherished

Prince Harry tragically ‘missed 32 calls from the Royal Family’ as they desperately tried to reach him about his beloved grandfather, Prince Philip’s death in 2021.

The Duke of Edinburgh passed away on April 9 at the grand age of 99, just a whisker away from celebrating his centenary.

In the tense days before the funeral, Prince Harry revealed he woke up to a staggering “32 missed calls”

and then had a “short, heart-racing” talk with his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II.

While the Royals were in mourning across the pond, Harry was oblivious in California, where he’s set up home with Meghan Markle and their little ones, Archie and Lilibet.

In his tell-all book Spare, Harry recounts the chilling conversation with his late grandmother, where she broke the news: “Harry… grandfather has passed away.”

The world watched as Harry returned for the Duke’s funeral, an event that captured global headlines, as noted by the Express, reports OK!.

Following Prince Philip’s passing, Harry honoured him with a moving statement, praising him as the “legend of banter” and saying: “He was authentically himself, with a seriously sharp wit, and could hold the attention of any room due to his charm and also because you never knew what he might say next.”

Prince Harry was seen in a sombre mood as he walked behind his grandfather’s coffin during the procession to St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle.

The funeral brought together Harry and William, yet their cousin Peter Phillips stood between them as they marched, sparking widespread speculation.

However, Buckingham Palace was quick to dismiss any notion of family tension, stating it was simply “a practical change rather than sending a signal.”

“A spokesperson from the Palace said: “This is a funeral and we are not going to be drawn into perceptions of drama. The arrangements have been agreed and represent Her Majesty’s wishes.”

Prince Philip had meticulously planned his own farewell, right down to the custom Land Rover hearse that carried him on his final journey.

The Duke of Edinburgh’s affinity for Land Rovers was well-known; he had granted his Royal Warrant to the brand over 40 years ago and had been driving them for most of his life.
