Andrea McLean, the beloved Loose Women panellist, faced another health scare this week after fainting in her bathroom.

The 55-year-old TV personality, who has been battling health issues for several months, collapsed after getting out of bed too quickly.
In a rather shocking turn of events, she fell face-first onto the bathroom floor, injuring herself with a bruised black eye.
Thankfully, McLean was fortunate enough to escape serious injury, and after seeking medical attention, it was confirmed that there were no broken bones or lost teeth.

The incident left McLean shaken but thankful that things weren’t worse.

Taking to social media to update her followers, she revealed that the fall occurred when she tried to get up too quickly one morning.

McLean shared the details of her mishap on Instagram, explaining how she fainted while walking to the bathroom. “I woke up yesterday morning and got out of bed too fast, I guess before I’d properly woken up. By the time I’d walked the few steps to the bathroom, I thought: ‘I don’t feel too good…’ and fainted. I landed on my face. Literally, face-planted onto the bathroom floor,” McLean wrote.
Despite the shock of the incident, McLean remained positive and grateful for the outcome. She expressed relief that her cheekbone wasn’t broken and assured fans she would not be losing any teeth. “I have been checked out at A&E, and thankfully my cheekbone isn’t broken, and I won’t lose any teeth. I was really lucky. Lesson learned. Take a moment,” she wrote in her post, urging others to be mindful of their physical well-being.
However, this was not the first health scare McLean has faced in recent months. Back in December, she was struck by a severe illness that left her struggling with acute pneumonia. The diagnosis was a devastating blow, as she learned that she had lost approximately 80% of her lung capacity. The illness also led to complications like acute kidney injury and sepsis. McLean had to undergo extensive treatment in the hospital, and the experience was incredibly taxing. She described her time in the hospital as a “sensory overload” with the constant bright lights, distressing sounds, and overwhelming smells, which made the recovery process even more difficult.

In reflecting on the severity of her health issues, McLean recently shared her feelings in a candid Substack post. “Note to self; being a big brave girl and not saying how much pain you’re in when you’ve lost 80% capacity in one of your lungs to severe pneumonia and infection is not a smart move. Get on the strong stuff ASAP,” she said, acknowledging the importance of listening to one’s body and seeking help when needed.
While McLean’s physical health may be under repair, her mental resilience and determination remain unshaken. Despite the lingering effects of her past health battles, McLean continues to power through her work commitments. She recently shared a humorous update with her followers, joking about her black eye and her upcoming appearance in Hull. “To the few hundred women I’m speaking on stage in front of tomorrow in Hull, excuse the shiner,” McLean quipped. She even poked fun at her bruised face by referencing the Black Eyed Peas, noting, “Oh. And Black Eyed Peas because I have a black eye and I spent most of yesterday with a bag of peas on my face.”
Andrea McLean’s journey over the past few months has been a testament to her strength and determination. While she continues to battle health issues, her positive attitude and sense of humor shine through. Her experience serves as a reminder to prioritize health and seek medical help when needed, and also to find humor in life’s toughest moments. As she continues to recover, it’s clear that McLean’s spirit remains unbroken, and her fans are rooting for her every step of the way.
