Denise Welch has firmly shut down speculation of behind-the-scenes tensions among her Loose Women co-stars,

insisting that the panelists share a strong bond despite their fiery on-air debates.
The 66-year-old actress and television personality addressed the rumors during an appearance on This Morning,
where she was joined by fellow Loose Women star Jane Moore to discuss their new podcast.

Dismissing Rift Rumors

Speaking to hosts Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley, Denise was quick to dispel any suggestion that disagreements on Loose Women translate into real-life feuds.

When Cat inquired about the panel’s dynamic and whether their debates ever continue off-screen, Denise emphatically denied any lingering tension.
“We never even talk about it off stage, no!” she declared, with Jane nodding in agreement. Jane also pointed out how their spirited exchanges often make headlines, giving the impression of ongoing rifts.
Denise, who has been part of Loose Women for many years, stressed that she would never remain in a work environment that was genuinely unpleasant.
“It’s so ridiculous! I’m 67 this year. If you think I would voluntarily come into a job with a toxic environment, I wouldn’t! I don’t have to, and I wouldn’t!” she stated, dismissing the notion that backstage clashes are a regular occurrence.
No Backstage Rows Despite On-Air Debates
While the ITV daytime show is known for its passionate discussions, Denise insisted that the panelists have never engaged in actual rows once the cameras stop rolling.
“We have never had a row in all the years that we’ve worked together!” she said, recalling how she and former Loose Women star Carol McGiffin used to have intense debates on-air. However, she clarified that once filming ended, any disagreements were left on set.
Denise also addressed a common criticism of shows like Loose Women, noting how society often pits women against each other. She believes that heated discussions are sometimes blown out of proportion simply because they involve women, adding fuel to unnecessary rumors.
Viewer Reactions to Denise’s Comments
While Denise was adamant that there is no toxicity among the panelists, her comments sparked mixed reactions from viewers. Some supported her stance, while others questioned whether Loose Women fosters an environment where differing opinions are truly welcomed.

One social media user challenged her claim about open discussions, writing: “Jeez! Own opinions?? Didn’t Charlene [White] have to give Denise a telling off ‘on-air’ last week over her comments on a subject?”
Another viewer took a harsher stance, claiming that the show itself embodies “toxic femininity” and stating: “You only need to watch Loose Women to see it in action.”
Despite these critiques, Loose Women remains one of ITV’s most popular talk shows, with its lively debates often sparking conversation far beyond the studio.
New Podcast Venture for Loose Women
Beyond their television work, Denise and her fellow Loose Women panelists have recently expanded their reach with the launch of a new podcast. The first episode, now available on ITVX, features Denise in conversation with Ayda Field Williams, where they openly discuss personal experiences, including struggles with addiction and motherhood.
The podcast aims to provide a space for deeper, more candid conversations than what is typically possible on daytime TV. Denise and Jane spoke highly of the new format during their This Morning appearance, praising its ability to explore complex topics in a meaningful way.
Denise Welch’s Strong Stance
Denise Welch has never been one to shy away from speaking her mind, and her recent comments reaffirm her confidence in the Loose Women team. While on-screen debates may sometimes appear intense, she insists that the panelists share a genuine friendship and mutual respect.

For now, despite the ongoing speculation, Denise remains focused on her work, both on television and in the podcasting world. She continues to challenge misconceptions and stand by her belief that a difference of opinion does not equate to a toxic workplace.
