ITV This Morning star shares Royal Family’s reaction to Meghan Markle’s new Netflix show

With anticipation building for Meghan Markle’s latest Netflix project, With Love, Meghan, royal commentator

and This Morning star Giles Brandreth has provided insight into the Royal Family’s reaction—or apparent lack thereof.

During a conversation with This Morning hosts Josie Gibson and Alison Hammond, Brandreth,

Who has longstanding connections to the Royal Family, dismissed the idea that the royals are concerned about the Duchess of Sussex’s upcoming show.

When asked if they were “worried” about the series, Brandreth responded:

“I don’t think they’re even noticing it. They may now, because if they’re sensible, they’ll be watching This Morning, but I think they were not even vaguely aware of it.”

His comments suggest that the Royal Family has not given the project much attention, despite the ongoing public fascination with Meghan and Prince Harry’s media ventures.

A Lifestyle Series, Not a Royal Documentary

Brandreth was also keen to clarify what audiences can expect from With Love, Meghan. He explained that the series is not an exposé on the Royal Family but rather a highly polished lifestyle program that aligns with Meghan’s personal brand.

“You’re not going to be seeing royals behind the scenes. You’re going to be seeing a very glossy, delightful lifestyle programme made by Americans, starring Meghan, who is already an American television star.”

The show will feature Meghan engaging in conversations about wellness, cooking, and personal passions, joined by an array of well-known figures, including actress Mindy Kaling, Meghan’s Suits co-star Abigail Spencer, celebrity chef Roy Choi, and Prince Harry himself in guest appearances.

Excitement Among TV Presenters

Despite the Royal Family’s supposed indifference, the series has already captured the attention of TV personalities and fans alike. Co-host Alison Hammond expressed her enthusiasm, sharing how she loves content that blends reality television with royal connections.

“I’ve noticed it, and I’m going to be all over it. I love stuff like that. It’s kind of reality TV but with royalty,” she said. Brandreth agreed, acknowledging that it’s the type of entertainment many enjoy.

Netflix Unveils a Teaser Featuring Meghan and Prince Harry

As the premiere approaches, Netflix has released a teaser that has generated plenty of buzz. The clip offers a glimpse of Meghan in a carefree moment, dancing barefoot, alongside short glimpses of Prince Harry. It also features their beloved beagle, Guy, who sadly passed away earlier this year.

Meghan shared her excitement on social media, posting:

“Six more days until our show launches on @netflix! Celebrating the crew and everyone who helped make this happen! The countdown begins.”

Her post was met with enthusiasm from fans eager to see her latest project.

Delays Due to California Wildfires

The series was initially scheduled to debut earlier but faced delays due to the devastating wildfires in California. Meghan took to Instagram on January 12 to express her gratitude for Netflix’s support in postponing the release, stating:

“I’m thankful to my partners at Netflix for supporting me in delaying the launch, as we focus on the needs of those impacted by the wildfires in my home state of California.”

Reports suggest that With Love, Meghan will include a segment paying tribute to California and those affected by the wildfires, further reinforcing Meghan’s connection to her roots.

What to Expect from ‘With Love, Meghan’

The series is expected to showcase Meghan in a relaxed, engaging environment, offering insights into her interests and passions. Rather than addressing royal controversies, it will focus on lifestyle themes such as mindfulness, food, and well-being. The format appears to be a natural extension of Meghan’s public persona, which she has cultivated over the years through her blog The Tig and various philanthropic initiatives.

With a mix of Hollywood-style production and personal storytelling, With Love, Meghan aims to resonate with viewers who enjoy aspirational lifestyle content.

Final Thoughts

While the Royal Family may not be paying much attention, Meghan Markle’s latest project is already generating significant excitement. With a star-studded lineup and a focus on lifestyle rather than royalty, the series is set to be another high-profile venture for the Duchess of Sussex.

As the premiere date approaches, all eyes will be on With Love, Meghan to see how it is received by audiences—and whether it truly manages to sidestep the ongoing royal drama.
