Janette Manrara was visibly emotional as she shared a heartfelt update with her followers on Monday,

revealing that she is preparing to spend time away from her husband, Aljaz Skorjanec, and their young daughter, Lyra.
The It Takes Two presenter took to Instagram to express her feelings about the upcoming separation,
as Aljaz and Lyra head to Slovenia while she embarks on her Chicago tour.

An Emotional Goodbye

In a candid video, the Strictly Come Dancing star wiped away tears while addressing her followers, admitting that the time apart will be difficult.

“Just said my goodbyes to Aljaz and Lyra, and I won’t see them for two weeks now,” she shared. “But sharing is good because it makes us all feel better.”
For Janette, this marks the longest time she has been away from Lyra since becoming a mother. Despite her sadness, she reassured herself and her fans that the little one will be in good hands. “She’s going to have the best time with her cousins and her nan in Slovenia,” she said. “And I know that mummy is making her proud.”
Janette also offered words of support to other parents who have to be away from their children due to work commitments. “To all parents that have to say goodbye to their kids for work or for whatever reason, it’s always tough but we’ve got this,” she encouraged.
Aljaz and Lyra’s Special Father-Daughter Trip
Meanwhile, Aljaz shared a sweet update on his own Instagram, posting a photo of himself at the airport with Lyra. Captioning the image “First solo trip,” the professional dancer appeared excited for his journey with their daughter.
Fans flooded the comments section with supportive messages, wishing the father and daughter duo a safe and enjoyable trip. “Safe trip and have a lovely time,” one fan wrote, while another added, “Bon voyage, have a lovely time with your family.”
Janette’s Exciting New Role in Chicago
The reason behind Janette’s temporary separation from her family is her exciting role in the Chicago UK and Ireland tour. She is taking on the lead role of Roxie Hart, a character who is both a housewife and a nightclub dancer caught up in a whirlwind of fame and scandal.

Currently, Janette is performing in Ireland, with shows running from March 11 to 15. She will then head to Northern Ireland from March 17 to 22, where she will take the stage at the Grand Opera House in Belfast.
While she has been involved in dance productions on the West End before, this marks the first time the 41-year-old will star in a full-fledged musical. Speaking about the opportunity, she described it as a dream come true.
A Dream Come True
Janette expressed her excitement about stepping into the role, saying, “To have my musical theatre debut be playing the iconic Roxie Hart is so exciting.”

She added, “She is a beautifully complex character, and I cannot wait to bring my ‘Roxie’ to the stage. I look forward to working with the incredible cast and the whole team of one of the best musicals of all time.”
Balancing Motherhood and Career
Since becoming a mother, Janette has been open about the joys and challenges of balancing her career and family life. She and Aljaz welcomed Lyra in July 2023, and since then, they have frequently shared glimpses of their parenting journey with fans.

Despite the temporary separation, it’s clear that Janette remains dedicated to both her family and her passion for performing. With her talent and determination, she is sure to make Lyra—and her fans—proud as she takes on this new adventure in the world of musical theatre.
