Jennifer Lawrence has spoken candidly about her future in the X-Men franchise.
The actress returns as Raven/Mystique in X-Men: Apocalypse, which opened in cinemas yesterday (May 18), but like co-stars Michael Fassbender and James McAvoy,
her original three-picture deal with Fox has now expired.
“Fassbender and McAvoy and I were all talking,” she told Entertainment Weekly. “Like, ‘Will you come back?’ ‘I dunno.’ ‘I’ll come back, if you come back.’
“Fox should be terrified because the deal we made was like if one of us doesn’t come back, none of us are.”
Lawrence then added: “I would love to come back. I love the fans and I love the character. But then you realise how important your year is – like, how important three months out of your year is.
I don’t know. I shouldn’t be that honest.”
X-Men: Apocalypse introduces a host of new X-Men cast members, including Game Of Thrones actress Sophie Turner as Jean Grey, Tye Sheridan as Scott Summers aka Cyclops, former EastEnders actor Ben Hardy as Angel and Alexandra Shipp as Storm.
Meanwhile, Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes star Kodi Smit-McPhee portrays a young Nightcrawler and The Newsroom‘s Olivia Munn has been cast as Psylocke. Star Wars‘ Oscar Isaac plays Apocalypse, the villain that gives the film its title.
