She’s been reluctant to bid farewell to her alter-ego Katniss Everdeen. And Jennifer Lawrence was giving the fearless heroine a spectacular send-off,
dressing to impress as she celebrated the world premiere of the The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2 in Berlin, Germany on Wednesday evening.
The 25-year-old Oscar-winning actress wowed in a daring low-cut purple gown,
looking the picture of elegance as she joined the all-star cast of the final installment in the popular film franchise on the red carpet.
The deep V-neck was cut almost down to her stomach, making the most of her decolletage and hourglass curves.
The blonde beauty wore her hair pulled back in an elegant updo, completing the look with sparkling silver earrings and soft taupe make-up.
She was flanked by her handsome co-stars Liam Hemswroth and Josh Hutcherson, seemingly re-enacting the love triangle from the blockbusters as they posed as a trio.
Meanwhile, Elizabeth Banks looked like she’d been taking fashion tips from her eccentric alter-ego Effie Trinket, wearing a billowing ballgown and a golden crown.
The 41-year-old actress stunned in her dreamy floral gown with its striking floral pattern and glittering embellishment.
Also putting on a strong sartorial display was Oscar-winning actress Julianne Moore, 54, who kept her look simple and sophisticated as ever.
The striking redhead, who plays President Alma Coin in the blockbuster, sported a classic black dress with intricate ruffle detailing running down the front.
She wore her hair pulled back in a top knot and upped the glamour with a pair of dazzling silver earrings.
Game Of Thrones actress Natalie Dormer also looked sensational in a striking bodycon dress with a geometric pattern.
The whole cast was out in force on the red carpet, including Donald Sutherland and Jenna Malone, who drew large cheers from the crowd gathered to catch a glimpse of the all-star attendees.
The third book in Suzanne Collins’ best-selling dystopian triology has been split into two movies, with the first one released one year earlier.
Part One followed Katniss discovering District 13, which was previously thought to have been destroyed, and encouraging rebels to join her fight.
Part Two is set to be even more action-packed, with the Mockingjay and her band of followers returning to Panem’s Capitol with the intention of killing the President.
Meanwhile, leading lady Jennifer recently confessed she was inspired to speak out on the gender pay gap in Hollywood because of her fierce character Katniss Everdeen.
‘I don’t see how I couldn’t be inspired by this character, I mean I was so inspired by her when I read the books, it’s the reason I wanted to play her,’ Lawrence said at a press conference, a day before the world premiere.
‘So I think it would be impossible to go four years with this character and not be inspired by her,’ she added.
Donald Sutherland, who plays tyrannical President Snow in the franchise, also revealed he hoped the hugely popular films would motivate young people worldwide to become political activists.
‘If it doesn’t work, we’re dead, all of us, if we don’t evoke climate change, if we don’t solve refugee problems, we don’t do any of that, we’re dead,’ Sutherland said, adding that a film could be a trigger for change.
The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2 will hit cinemas in the UK on November 19 and the US on November 20.
Speaking at a press preview on Saturday, Jennifer told reporters: ‘I think it will be pretty bizarre when the movie is finally out and… everything is officially done.’
The 25-year-old added: ‘I didn’t really feel that I said goodbye to [Katniss].’
