Jennifer’s frustration with boring scenes led to “rude” behavior towards the crew, sending some to the hospital

She’s currently trying her hand at a ‘hard’ R-rated comedy after starring in the satire Don’t Look Up last year.

But Jennifer Lawrence looked surprisingly somber when she was spotted filming on a beach in Montauk on Sunday.

The 32-year-old Oscar winner appeared to be shooting a rare emotional scene for her new film No Hard Feelings while accompanied by a film crew on Long Island.

She wore a blue-and-white checker-print long-sleeve shirt, which she paired with a set of baggy black sweatpants.

The Silver Linings Playbook star also appeared to have on a pair of black Ugg boots as she sat by a small fire.

She had a low-key makeup look and wore her long blond hair pulled back in a ponytail that was swept over one shoulder.

Despite the cool temperatures, it looked as if Jennifer’s character had just done some surfing, as she sat in front of a long board.

The actress was joined by one of her male costars who wore flip flops, though his face was obscured by crew members standing around.

They held boom microphones above the actors’ heads, just out of sight of the camera, with one mic per actor.

In between takes at the Montauk shoot, Jennifer draped a coat over herself to warm up, and a makeup artist touched up her face.

Few plot details have been released about Jennifer’s comedy No Hard Feelings, though it has been described as a ‘hard’ R-rated comedy, which is a bit of a rarity now as studios have eschewed comedies in favor of big-budget superhero films.

The R-rated comedy has also fallen out of favor and largely been replaced by broader PG-13 comedies, which are seen as a safer bet to attract a larger audience.

Vogue previously described the film as ‘a Harold and Maude–type comedy based on a Craigslist ad in which a mom was seeking someone to date her son before he went to college.’

Although the content of No Hard Feelings is being kept under wraps, Jennifer’s costars have already been announced.

She stars in the comedy with Ebon Moss-Bachrach, of Girls and The Bear fame, along with Matthew Broderick, Natalie Morales, Hasan Minhaj, former Saturday Night Live star Kyle Mooney and Laura Benanti.

In addition to playing the lead in the project, Jennifer is also one of its producers.

Taking the role of producer gives the actress more control over her film, after she said that she felt like a ‘commodity’ in the wake of filming the Hunger Games series years earlier.

‘When I reflect now, I can’t think of those following years, [because there was] just a loss of control,’ the actress recalled at an event at the London Film Festival, according to Variety.

‘I think I lost a sense of control,’ she continued. ‘Between The Hunger Games coming out and winning the Oscar [for 2012’s Silver Lining Playbook], I became such a commodity that I felt like every decision was a big, big group decision.’

However, she said making movies now ‘feels personal for me the first time in a long time’ after she launched her own production company and took more control of her career path.
