Jessica Simpson suggests ex Eric Johnson cheated in fiery new song: ‘She’s everything but me’

Stephen Mulhern, one of ITV’s most beloved presenters, has made a name for himself with his charismatic and engaging hosting style.

From Catchphrase to Deal or No Deal, he has cemented his status as a household name.

However, his lighthearted remarks about fellow ITV star Ben Shephard’s show, Tipping Point,

have sparked some amusing discussions about a possible friendly rivalry between the two.

A Playful Jab at Tipping Point

During his tenure as the host of Rolling In It, which aired from 2020 to 2021,

Mulhern couldn’t help but make a tongue-in-cheek comparison between his game show and Shephard’s long-running hit, Tipping Point.

Rolling In It featured contestants and celebrity partners rolling coins down a conveyor belt in the hopes of winning large cash prizes.

In a 2021 interview, Mulhern expressed his belief that Rolling In It was the best game show on television at the time, stating, “I genuinely believe this—this is the best gameshow on TV.” His enthusiasm for his show led to some playful banter when he was asked about a rivalry with Shephard.

“Well, no, because Rolling In It is the best,” Mulhern quipped. “This is better than Tipping Point. Don’t worry about that.”

He even jokingly anticipated a reaction from Shephard, saying, “We might have a rivalry now because Ben might text me and say, ‘What did you say that for?’”

Despite his comments, Mulhern was quick to acknowledge Tipping Point’s success, stating, “I think Tipping Point is an amazing show, but Rolling In It is better.”

A Respected ITV Duo

While his remarks were clearly in good fun, the banter between the two ITV stars highlights the friendly competition among the network’s top presenters. Shephard, who has been hosting Tipping Point since 2012, has built the show into a fan favorite, and his polished presenting style has earned him widespread admiration.

Mulhern, on the other hand, has found success across multiple ITV programs, including In For A Penny and Catchphrase, solidifying his reputation as a versatile and engaging host. His humor and ability to connect with audiences have made him a beloved figure on British television.

Reuniting for a Classic Revival

Aside from his work on Rolling In It, Mulhern has continued to expand his ITV portfolio. In 2024, he teamed up with Holly Willoughby to co-host a revival of the classic game show You Bet! The show, which originally aired between 1988 and 1997, was hosted by several legendary TV personalities, including the late Sir Bruce Forsyth. ITV announced in August 2024 that two special revival episodes were in production, bringing back the nostalgic game show format for a new generation of viewers.

Mulhern’s involvement in the revival demonstrates his deep connection to classic game show formats and his ability to bring fresh energy to familiar concepts. His dynamic on-screen presence, coupled with his sharp wit, continues to make him a favorite among ITV audiences.

No Real Rivalry, Just Friendly Fun

Ultimately, Mulhern’s remarks about Shephard’s Tipping Point were all in good humor. The two presenters remain popular figures on ITV, each bringing their own unique style to the network’s lineup of entertainment programs.

While Rolling In It may no longer be on the air, Mulhern’s career continues to thrive with his involvement in numerous ITV projects. As for Shephard, Tipping Point remains a staple of daytime television, proving its enduring popularity with viewers.

In the end, whether viewers prefer Rolling In It or Tipping Point, there’s no denying that both Stephen Mulhern and Ben Shephard are integral to ITV’s success, each contributing to the network’s legacy in their own way.
