Joyner Lucas has addressed speculations of a 2020 relationship with Ashanti, who appeared in his “Fall Slowly” music video.

The Massachusetts native discussed his relationship with the “Foolish” singer before her reconciliation with Nelly last year in an interview with The Jason Lee Podcast on Wednesday (April 10).

“She’s an amazing person,” he stated of his ex. I’m private n-gga. I don’t talk about it, but she’s fantastic and I’m pleased for her. About to have a baby. I understand her desire to be a mother.”

The “I’m Not Racist” MC revealed that the two discussed having children during their time together, but he wasn’t ready at the time. He insists he loved her throughout.

“I loved her, definitely… However, she’s easy to love. She’s awesome, bro. I’m not just saying that,” he said. “I knew what she wаnted and needed, but I couldn’t fulfill it then.

Shanti has played 25 years; I just started. I know her desires and needs.

I didn’t feel ready to commit to that, that’s all. However, I’m glad she won. I’m glad she went—spun the block with Nelly and had a baby. I am proud of her… She’ll be a great mom. I told her that often.”

Regarding their relationship and age difference, he said: “I do feel like I gravitate towards older wоme𝚗, and I just think it’s because older wоme𝚗 understand certain sҺit that young wоme𝚗 don’t.

“It’s intellectual, not sexuаl. I think older ladies think differently. No offense to older wоme𝚗, but I never considered Ashanti’s age difference. That never interested me.”

Ashanti and Nelly have been rumored to be carrying a kid for months until the singer’s mother confirmed it last month.

Tina Douglas, her daughter’s longtime manager, was congratulated on the reported pregnancy in a recent public appearance. Instead of saying “yet,” she stated it hasn’t “officially been announced.”

Fans thought Ashanti was hiding her pregnancy as she sang “Mesmerize” in an oversized t-shirt dress and thigh-high heels with the former MurԀer Inc. members.
