Kathie Lee Gifford ‘can’t stand religion’ but still believes in God

Kathie Lee Gifford, the former co-host of “Live with Regis and Kathie Lee,” has been open about her strong faith, but recently shared a surprising perspective on her relationship with religion.

While she remains a devout believer in God, Gifford admitted that she “can’t stand religion” in the traditional sense.

Her discomfort with organized religion stems from what she feels are the limitations and constraints it imposes on personal spirituality.

Despite her frustration with religious institutions, Gifford’s faith in God has remained central to her life, offering her strength and peace through challenging times.

For Gifford, her belief in God is not defined by the formalities and rules that are often associated with organized religions.

She explained that she does not connect with the rigid structures of religious dogma, which sometimes seem to overshadow the core messages of love, compassion, and kindness that she holds dear.

In interviews, Gifford has stated that her faith is more personal and less tied to the conventions of religious institutions. For her, it’s about maintaining a relationship with God that is grounded in personal experience rather than ritual or tradition.

This struggle with the confines of organized religion is not unique to Gifford. Many people who hold deep spiritual beliefs feel disconnected from the institutionalized aspects of faith, particularly when those structures seem to prioritize rules over individual connection. Gifford’s candid admission about her feelings of frustration with religious systems highlights a broader conversation about the intersection of personal spirituality and the often rigid frameworks of organized religions. She has made it clear that she values her connection to God but does not feel the need to adhere to the prescribed rituals and rules often associated with religion.

Despite her discomfort with traditional religious practices, Gifford’s belief in God has been a vital part of her life. She credits her faith for helping her navigate the challenges of fame and personal hardship. Gifford’s faith has always been a source of stability, providing her with inner peace during difficult moments. She has spoken openly about how her belief in God helped her through personal struggles, including the death of her husband, Frank Gifford, and the trials of raising her children. Her faith has been a source of comfort, even when she felt disconnected from organized religion.

Kathie Lee Gifford’s reflections on her faith and her discomfort with organized religion reflect a larger trend of individuals seeking spiritual fulfillment outside of traditional religious institutions. While many people find community and purpose in religious groups, others, like Gifford, may find a more personal and direct connection to their faith. Gifford’s honesty in sharing her experiences offers a reminder that spirituality is deeply personal and that there are many paths to finding a connection with the divine. Her faith, free from the constraints of religion, continues to shape her life in profound ways.
