Michael Lohan, the father of actress Lindsay Lohan, has been arrested in Texas on a felony assault charge.
The 64-year-old was taken into custody following allegations that he physically assaulted his estranged wife, Kate Major Lohan.
Details of the Arrest
According to court documents obtained by Fox News Digital, Lohan has been charged with continuous violence against the family, a felony offense.
The arrest stemmed from an incident that reportedly occurred a few days before law enforcement was called.
A spokesperson for the Harris County Sheriff’s Office provided further details,
stating that Major had been attending a medical follow-up appointment on Friday, February 21, 2025,
when she saw Lohan in the parking lot. Feeling unsafe, she called 911, prompting deputies to respond to the scene.
Major informed officers that Lohan had flipped her out of a chair at their home days earlier, causing her pain and discomfort. When deputies arrived, a female officer examined Major and observed bruising on her body, supporting her claims of physical assault.
Lohan was arrested at his residence in north Harris County and is currently being held on a $30,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in court on Monday.
Kate Major’s Response
In a statement given exclusively to Fox News Digital, Major expressed her concerns and requested privacy for herself and her children.
“I’m praying for privacy for the sake of my kids and myself and pray justice is finally served,” she stated.
Representatives for Lohan have not publicly responded to the allegations.
A Troubled Relationship
Lohan and Major have had a tumultuous relationship over the years. The couple married in 2014 and share two sons, Landon Major Lohan and Logan Michael Lohan. However, their marriage has been far from stable.
In 2018, they filed for divorce, citing that their relationship was “irretrievably broken.” Despite taking legal steps to dissolve their marriage, they later withdrew the petition in 2019.
This latest arrest is not the first time Lohan has faced legal trouble related to domestic issues.
Previous Legal Troubles
Lohan has a history of run-ins with the law, particularly involving domestic disputes with Major.
In 2020, he was arrested after allegedly becoming verbally and physically abusive toward her. A report obtained by Page Six at the time detailed the incident, but further legal consequences were not widely publicized.
Major has also had her share of legal issues. In April 2015, she was arrested in Boca Raton, Florida, after allegedly drunkenly attacking Lohan during an argument. Lohan had accused her of infidelity, which escalated into a physical altercation. Major later claimed that Lohan had grabbed her by the throat, though authorities were unable to find evidence to support the accusation.
A Pattern of Domestic Disputes
The latest arrest adds to a long history of turmoil between Lohan and Major. Their relationship has been marked by repeated accusations of physical and verbal abuse, legal filings, and public disputes.
While Lohan’s current charge of continuous violence against the family is serious, it remains unclear how the case will unfold in court. Given his prior arrests and legal battles, this latest charge could have significant consequences for his future.
Ongoing Investigation and Legal Proceedings
As of now, Lohan remains in custody as he awaits his court appearance. Authorities will likely continue investigating the allegations, and more details may emerge during his upcoming hearing.
For now, Major and her children remain the focus of concern, with her statement emphasizing a desire for privacy and justice.
Whether Lohan will face jail time or further legal repercussions remains to be seen. However, with his history of domestic disputes and prior arrests, this case will likely be closely watched.
