Loose Women’s Janet Street-Porter hits out at ‘selfish’ co-star in on-air clash

Tensions flared on a recent episode of Loose Women when Janet Street-Porter and Denise Welch found themselves at odds over a heated debate.

The discussion, centered around the idea of emigration, took an unexpected turn when Janet accused her fellow panelist of being “selfish” for her stance on leaving the country.

The panel, which included Ruth Langsford, Coleen Nolan, Janet, and Denise,

was engaging in a lively debate on whether they had ever considered moving abroad.

It was during this discussion that Janet’s remarks sparked a fiery exchange between her and Denise.

A Heated Exchange Over Emigration

As Denise expressed her thoughts on potentially relocating, Janet did not hold back in her response. “That’s so selfish,” she stated bluntly, prompting Denise to fire back with a direct, “Why is it selfish?” Janet then elaborated, saying, “If you don’t like the country you are in, do something about it yourself.”

Denise, who appeared taken aback by the comment, insisted, “I’m trying to.” However, Janet continued her argument by suggesting an alternative for those unhappy with the UK: “Then go to another place, like Dubai.”

Denise, not one to back down, pointed out that while Dubai offers tax-free living and safety, she believes the UK values human rights differently. “In this country, we respect the country’s human rights more than the victim’s human rights,” she added.

Ruth Langsford’s Health Warning

While the fiery debate between Janet and Denise captured viewers’ attention, another segment of the show took a more serious turn. Host Ruth Langsford took a moment to address an important health issue, urging viewers to pay close attention to changes in their skin.

As the panel shifted the conversation to skin health, Ruth emphasized the importance of checking for any unusual changes. “Are you taking care of your skin? Any change in your condition could be an indication that something else is going on in your body,” she warned.

She referenced expert advice from dermatologists who stress that many people neglect to properly examine their skin for potential warning signs. “We are all guilty of not taking enough time to really look at our skin and therefore look after ourselves,” she noted.

Ruth Opens Up About Her Own Skin Checks

During the discussion, Ruth shared a personal health update, revealing that she undergoes regular skin checks. She explained, “When I was younger, you kind of ignored things and never thought about it. But as I’ve gotten older, I make sure to get my moles checked twice a year.”

Reflecting on her past sun exposure, she admitted that growing up, she and many others weren’t as aware of the dangers of sun damage. “When we were young, we didn’t know the risks of sunbathing. My dad was in the army, so we spent a lot of time abroad, running around in the sun. Sunscreen was around, but we didn’t necessarily smother ourselves in it.”

Reassuring viewers, Ruth disclosed that she recently had a minor procedure but emphasized that there was nothing to worry about. “I’ve just had a little thing done this week, but it’s been checked, and it’s nothing serious,” she said.

Coleen Nolan’s Lighthearted Observation

Towards the end of the health discussion, Coleen Nolan added a humorous moment by recalling a peculiar incident from earlier that day. “Didn’t you go green earlier?” she asked Ruth.

Ruth laughed off the comment, responding playfully, “I did go green, but it’s gone now. I don’t know what that was—maybe because it was early morning.”

A Show Known for Fiery Debates and Important Conversations

Loose Women is no stranger to passionate discussions, with its panelists often bringing strong opinions to the table. While the heated exchange between Janet Street-Porter and Denise Welch stirred debate among viewers, Ruth’s heartfelt health message served as an important reminder of self-care.

With discussions ranging from politics to personal well-being, Loose Women continues to engage its audience with both thought-provoking and relatable conversations. Whether it’s a clash of viewpoints or an essential health update, the show remains a staple of daytime television, sparking conversations long after the cameras stop rolling.
