Kate Martin and Caitlin Clark made their much-anticipated reunion on the WNBA court on Saturday night as the Las Vegas Aces welcomed the Indiana Fever for a regular-season matchup.
Martin and Clark played together for four seasons at Iowa and remain best friends as they begin their respective WNBA careers.
After the Aces’ 99-80 win over the Fever, Martin took the mic to discuss what it was like to play against her former teammate.
Simply put, it was “weird” for Martin to face off against Clark.
“It was weird, I’m not gonna lie,” Martin said. “Just looking out on the court and seeing her in a different jersey than me, it was obviously different. You know, it’s really fun. We’re both living out our dream right now. We both get to compete at the highest level.”
