Maya Jama pokes fun at Macy Gray with a cheeky Instagram post after she stormed off The Masked Singer following her elimination

Maya Jama couldn’t resist poking fun at Macy Gray

after the singer’s dramatic exit from *The Masked Singer* on Saturday night.

The 30-year-old TV presenter, who is a judge on the popular ITV competition, was visibly taken aback

when Macy stormed off the stage following her elimination.

The I Try singer, 57, was revealed to be the mystery character “Toad in the Hole,”

but her reaction to the unmasking left both the audience and the judges in disbelief.

Macy’s exit from the stage was swift and unmistakable, leaving host Joel Dommett and fellow judges Davina McCall, Mo Gilligan, and Jonathan Ross in shock. However, things didn’t stop there. Maya, always one to enjoy a bit of humor, shared a cheeky TikTok clip on her Instagram Stories that made light of the situation. The video showed Macy striding off stage, with the caption: “me at any minor inconvenience.” It was a lighthearted take on the moment, capturing the humor of the situation from a fan’s perspective.

Macy’s actions on the show were shocking to many viewers, but it was later revealed that her meltdown had a deeper cause. Sources close to the show explained that Macy was “totally blindsided” by the result. After all, the singer had previously reached the final of the U.S. version of *The Masked Singer* in 2023, which made her early elimination even more difficult to process. A source told *The Sun* that when Macy stormed off stage, everyone backstage was left in a state of shock. “Macy was almost shellshocked to start with,” the insider explained. “She was gutted to be out so early because she really enjoyed being on the American version.”

The emotional impact of the situation was evident, and the source suggested that the raw reaction from Macy was a result of the shock and upset of the elimination. “It was the shock of it for her as well as the upset, and in that moment she had a very raw, human reaction and wanted out,” they shared. “For a professional performer to reach that point shows how badly she felt.”

While it was clear that Macy was struggling with her early exit, the show’s crew worked hard to bring her back. The source revealed that it took nearly an hour for producers to coax Macy back onto the stage after her departure. Although it may have appeared as though Macy returned quickly, the backstage effort was far more involved, with crew members removing her mask in an attempt to calm her down. “The crew removed her mask so they could talk her down,” the insider said. “The whole thing was totally wild.”

Despite the chaos that ensued, the source emphasized that *The Masked Singer* is meant to be a lighthearted competition and that the voting process is “no indication of her talent.” Still, no one could have predicted such an emotional reaction from the seasoned performer.

For viewers who may have been concerned about the fallout from Macy’s walk-off, it’s worth noting that she was not the only celebrity to be eliminated. During the same episode, Prue Leith was revealed as Pegasus, and Kate Garraway was unmasked as Spag Bol, both making early exits from the competition. However, Macy’s emotional departure has certainly dominated the conversation online.

While the drama on *The Masked Singer* continues to unfold, Maya Jama’s playful response to the situation shows that even in moments of tension, there’s room for humor. Whether Macy Gray will return to *The Masked Singer* for another shot remains to be seen, but one thing is for sure: the latest episode will go down in history as one of the most unexpected moments in the show’s history.
