Meghan Markle says she was “deeply hurt” when her daughter Lilibet said these six words to her (video)

An emotional Meghan Markle has shared that her daughter Lilibet uttered a heartwarming six-word phrase that completely astounded her.

The Duchess of Sussex opened up about her “chatty, sweet” children, Archie, aged 4, and two year old Lilibet, during an intimate conversation in Nigeria.

Meghan, who was accompanied by her husband Prince Harry, spoke candidly about the delights and hurdles of parenthood at a panel discussing women’s leadership.

The 42 year old ex-actress seized the moment to recount a poignant moment with her young daughter Lilibet to the audience.

She recounted: “Our daughter, Lili, she’s much, much tinier than you guys. She’s about to turn three,

and a few weeks ago she looked at me and she would just see the reflection in my eyes. And she goes, ‘Mama, I see me in you’.”

Meghan explained that Lilibet’s comment was meant “really literally,” and it resonated deeply with her. She continued: “I thought, yes, I do see me in you, and you see me in you. As I look around this room, I see myself in all of you as well.”, reports the Mirror.

Additionally, Meghan reflected on a significant breakfast meeting with NBCUniversal’s vice-chair Bonnie Hammer, where she sought guidance on balancing her professional life with being a mother. Meghan revealed: “She invited me to have breakfast, and I thought this was just the biggest deal in the world. And I asked her that exact question. I said, ‘How do you find the balance? ‘ And she said, ‘You don’t, you’ll never find the balance’.”

While reflecting on numerous twists her life had taken, Meghan told People magazine: “And this was before I was married. This was before I had children. This is before all the things in my life have certainly had a plot twist.”

In a touching moment, Meghan shared her insights about motherhood and her children’s distinct personalities. She said: “What I think that means now is that that balance will always change for you … What seems balanced 10 years ago is going to shift, and so being a mom has always been a dream of mine and I’m so fortunate that we have two beautiful, healthy, very chatty, sweet children. I love being a mum.”

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex commenced their intense three-day tour of Nigeria previous Friday. The couple initiated their visit with a trip to Abuja’s Lightway Academy school.
