Omid Scobie appeared to take aim at Kate Middleton after her controversial new Mother’s Day picture.
Royal author Scobie, who has been described as Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s “mouthpiece”, shared his thoughts on the photo after it was released on Sunday.
He suggested the Waleses need to hire a new communications team, writing: “Wonder what it would be like if they had a good comms team”.
The new family photo featuring Kate and her three children is the first official image of the Princess of Wales since she underwent planned abdominal surgery in January.
Commenting on Scobie’s post, one fan joked: “Would love to be a fly on the wall,” while another blasted: “No one talented wants to work there.”, reports the Mirror.
A third fan insisted: “Omid, they need a good Photoshop department,” while someone else said: “I know the Buckingham Palace comms team is having a good laugh.”
Royal fans have taken to social media to point out several photoshop “errors” with the new picture of Kate, including the positioning of Prince Louis’ hands to mismatched lines and clothing patterns.
Other “faults” include the future Queen’s missing wedding band as well as Princess Charlotte’s half-missing sleeve and blurred skirt.
Earlier today, Kate broke her silence on the official Prince and Princess of Wales Instagram page, and apologised. She released a statement saying: “Like many amateur photographers, I do occasionally experiment with editing. I wanted to express my apologies for any confusion the family photograph we shared yesterday caused.
“I hope everyone celebrating had a very happy Mother’s Day. C.”
The photograph was shared with media on Sunday but it was withdrawn by international picture agencies – Associated Press, Reuters, Agence France-Presse (AFP), and Getty Images – later the same day because of concerns that the image had been manipulated.
The Associated Press warned: “At closer inspection it appears that the source has manipulated the image.”
