Meghan wore an old dress on Mother’s Day, expressing an emotional message to her children

On May 12, in Lagos (Nigeria), Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle appeared prominently in the yellow dress she wore on Prince Archie’s first birthday in 2020.

The special thing is that she chose to wear this dress again on Mother’s Day. It seems that Meghan wants to express her feelings in another way when she cannot be at home with her children on this day.

Meghan and Prince Harry were welcomed as honored guests by Lagos Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and General Christopher Gwabin Musa OFR, Chief of the Nigerian Defense Staff.

The visit was part of the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games, which Harry founded to support veterans.

During the event, Meghan was given a scarf by the Governor’s wife as a symbol of connection and gratitude.

The conversation between Sanwo-Olu and the royal couple focused on efforts to support military personnel and raise awareness about mental health.

Harry described the visit as a profound lesson in Nigeria’s diversity, rich culture and peace efforts. The trip to Lagos was also meaningful to him as it reminded him of the visit of Prince Charles and Princess Diana in 1990.

As for Meghan, she recently discovered her Nigerian roots through a genetic test, which discovered 43% of her blood is from this country. At Lightway Academy in Abuja, she spoke openly and inspirationally to students, emphasizing her empathy and strong connection with them. On May 11, during an event about female leadership, Meghan expressed gratitude when being warmly welcomed by Nigerians. She calls Nigeria “my country” to affirm her personal connection to the place.

While visiting Nigeria, Harry and Meghan decided to leave their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, at home in Montecito, California. The couple’s children are cared for by their grandmother Doria Ragland – Meghan’s mother. In addition, they also have a childcare maid to ensure Archie and Lilibet are always well taken care of while their parents are busy working away from home. Meghan’s re-wearing of the dress she wore for her son’s first birthday at the event on Mother’s Day also shows that no matter where she is, she is always looking out for her child.
