Michael Strahan caught viewers off guard during a recent segment on Good Morning America when he expressed his interest in a highly coveted film role.

The former NFL star and television host made the surprising declaration while interviewing Amazon’s president and CEO, Andy Jassy.
During the conversation, Strahan turned the focus to Amazon’s recent acquisition of the James Bond franchise, a move that cost the company a reported $1 billion.
When the discussion shifted to who might take over the iconic role of 007, Jassy redirected the question back to Strahan, asking who he thought should be the next Bond.

Without missing a beat, Strahan pointed to himself and confidently stated, “You’re looking at him. I’m here.”

Jassy played along, asking if Strahan was both available and interested in the role. The GMA co-host enthusiastically responded, “All of those things.”

A Star with Acting Experience
While it may be unlikely that Strahan will don the famous tuxedo and take up the mantle of James Bond, it wouldn’t be his first foray into acting. Over the years, he has taken on a handful of roles in film and television. Strahan appeared in Magic Mike XXL, guest-starred on the popular sitcom Black-ish, and even had a cameo in the 2019 Charlie’s Angels reboot.
Though he enjoys stepping into the acting world, Strahan’s schedule leaves little room for a full-fledged film career. In addition to co-hosting Good Morning America, he is a sports analyst on Fox NFL Sunday, the host of The $100,000 Pyramid, and the face of his own clothing and skincare brands. He is also a devoted father to four children, which takes precedence in his busy life.
Looking Toward the Future
While Strahan has hinted at retirement, he has made it clear that he has no immediate plans to slow down. In a recent interview, he acknowledged that he has thought about the day he steps away from the spotlight but assured fans it won’t happen just yet.

“I won’t go cold turkey on everything,” he shared. “But I see myself slowly dropping different things until eventually, you’ll just find me on the golf course.”
Strahan’s perspective on life and career has shifted in recent years, especially following his daughter Isabella’s cancer diagnosis. The experience has reinforced the importance of cherishing time with loved ones and making the most of every moment.
“Time is the one thing that once it’s gone, you can never get it back,” he said. “I’m very conscious of that, being a dad. That’s what has led me to think more about the end of my career.”
Enjoying Life Beyond Work

Despite his busy professional life, Strahan has made it clear that he values balance and looks forward to the day when he can take more time for himself and his family. He has shared his plans to eventually step away from television to embrace a more relaxed lifestyle.
“I like company, I like vacations,” he said. “I’m at the point in life when I just want to enjoy it. I don’t want to work forever; I want to enjoy life at some point.”
For now, Strahan remains a staple on Good Morning America, bringing energy and charisma to his hosting duties. And while his James Bond aspirations may have been said in jest, fans can still enjoy seeing him on screen in his many other roles.
