Michael Strahan outlines Hollywood goal after plans to leave Good Morning America

Michael Strahan, the beloved New York Giants legend and television personality, is making headlines once again,

but this time for his aspirations in Hollywood.

While Strahan has enjoyed a long and successful career in the media, particularly as a host for *Good Morning America* (GMA) and an analyst on *FOX NFL Sunday*,

he may be considering a major shift in his professional trajectory.

Recent reports suggest that Strahan is contemplating stepping away from his role on GMA, but the exciting part is what he’s aiming for next: a coveted role in Hollywood.

Strahan, known for his charismatic and confident persona, revealed his Hollywood goal during a conversation with Amazon CEO Andy Jassy.

The topic of discussion? The iconic role of James Bond. Amazon now owns the Bond franchise, having acquired it for a significant sum, and Jassy asked Strahan who he thought should take on the legendary character of 007 in the next installment of the series. Without hesitation, Strahan leaned forward, flashing his trademark smile, and confidently declared, “You’re looking at him.” His playful response left Jassy laughing, but Strahan was serious when he stated that he was “available and interested” in taking on the role. The bold declaration sparked a buzz among fans and further fueled speculation about Strahan’s future in television.

While Strahan’s playful pitch for the role of James Bond was met with laughter, it underscores his growing presence in the entertainment industry. The NFL Hall of Famer is no stranger to Hollywood, having made several notable appearances on television shows and films since retiring from football. He has played himself in various productions, including *Entourage*, *Are We There Yet?*, *Alpha House*, and *The Rebels*. Strahan’s most recent role was in *The Underdoggs: From Blunts to Runts*, a film featuring Snoop Dogg and Mike Epps, where he once again appeared as himself alongside his *FOX NFL Sunday* colleagues.

In addition to playing himself, Strahan showcased his acting range by portraying NY Bosley in the 2019 *Charlie’s Angels* reboot. He also appeared on *Black-ish* as June Bug and lent his voice to animated characters in *Ice Age: Collision Course* and *The Lego Ninjago Movie*. His involvement in various television projects proves that Strahan has not just embraced his role as a media personality but is also carving out a diverse career in entertainment.

Interestingly, back in 2017, Strahan dismissed the idea of playing James Bond when asked by his *Good Morning America* co-hosts, even suggesting that his colleague George Stephanopoulos would be a better fit for the role. However, it seems that Strahan has had a change of heart, and his recent comments about playing 007 have raised the stakes in the conversation about the next Bond. The role of James Bond has been a highly coveted one for decades, with only six actors officially portraying the iconic British spy since 1962. Daniel Craig’s recent portrayal of Bond in *No Time to Die* marked the end of his five-film tenure, and now, with Amazon overseeing the future of the franchise, the search for the next Bond has become one of Hollywood’s most closely watched casting decisions.

Strahan’s ambitions to play James Bond might put him in competition with some of Hollywood’s most prominent names. Actors such as Tom Hardy, Cillian Murphy, and James Norton are rumored to be in the running for the role, and Strahan’s public pitch for the part will likely stir up more conversations as the Bond franchise prepares to enter its next chapter. Given the legacy of the Bond films, which have grossed over $7 billion globally across 25 films, stepping into the 007 role is no small feat.

As Strahan contemplates the possibility of leaving *Good Morning America* this summer to focus on family and new opportunities, it’s clear that he is keeping his options open, with Hollywood firmly in his sights. Whether he pursues a major film career or stays in television, Strahan has already proven his versatility and ability to captivate audiences. His bold move to pitch himself as the next James Bond shows that he is ready to take on new challenges and continue making waves in the entertainment world.

Fans of Strahan, and of James Bond, will undoubtedly be keeping a close eye on the developments surrounding both his potential departure from GMA and his Hollywood ambitions.
