Caitlin Clark had insult added to possible injury during Saturday’s game between the Indiana Fever and Chicago Sky.
Indiana went into the contest with a 1-8 record but got their first home win of the season, albeit via the slimmest of margins.
Clark was the victim of a nasty body check from Sky shooting guard Chennedy Carter, with the play going viral. Still, it was only adjudged to be a common foul, with Caitlin being awarded a free throw due to the ball still being out of bounds at the time.
Another angle shows an irate Carter calling Clark the “B-word” before decking her, and we don’t mean “Baller.”
Check it out right below:
Clark – who wasn’t all that shaken up by the play, though she must have been shocked as she didn’t see it coming despite the verbal warning – sank a free throw that ended up being crucial as the Fever won by a single point.

Caitlin Clark Discusses Chennedy Carter’s Nasty Body Check
Caitlin Clark spoke to ESPN after her 11-point performance and was asked about the foul.
“Yeah, that’s just not a basketball play,” she said (H/T the New York Post). “But you know I’ve gotta play through it, that’s what basketball is about at this level. I thought we’ve been really physical, we’ve missed some bunnies around the rim, so hopefully those fall in the fourth.”
Since being drafted as the No. 1 overall pick back in April, Clark has been treated to some pretty rough stuff. Hardly a game goes by without the Fever rookie taking a cheap shot.
Still, she’s dealt with the experience quite well and will hope to build on Saturday’s win.
