Pete Wicks admits health issue has been ‘quite bad’ after Strictly Come Dancing stint

Reality TV star Pete Wicks, known for his appearances on *The Only Way Is Essex*,

has revealed that he has been battling a health issue that worsened during his time on *Strictly Come Dancing*.

The 35-year-old admitted that the condition, which he described as “quite bad,” has posed significant challenges in recent months.

Speaking candidly in a recent interview, Wicks shared how the intense physical demands of the dance competition exacerbated his health concerns.

The revelation has sparked an outpouring of support from fans, who are praising his resilience and openness.

Wicks, who participated in a special edition of *Strictly Come Dancing*, captivated audiences with his performances and charisma on the dance floor.

However, behind the scenes, he was dealing with an issue that was taking a toll on his body.

“I’ve been dealing with this health problem for a while now,” Wicks explained. “Strictly was an amazing experience, but it was also incredibly physically demanding. By the end of it, the issue had gotten quite bad.”

Though Wicks did not disclose the specific nature of his condition, he acknowledged that it has impacted his daily life, forcing him to reevaluate his priorities and focus on his well-being.

Competing on *Strictly Come Dancing* is known to be a rigorous undertaking. Contestants often undergo grueling training sessions, clocking in hours of practice to perfect their routines. For someone like Wicks, who was already managing a health condition, the combination of intense rehearsals and live performances likely added to the strain.

“It’s not just about the dancing,” Wicks said. “There’s a lot of pressure, mentally and physically. It’s an incredible experience, but it’s also very tough on your body.”

Wicks’ admission highlights the lesser-seen side of reality TV and competition shows, where the demands of performing can sometimes overshadow personal struggles.

Since opening up about his struggles, Wicks has been met with an outpouring of support from fans and fellow celebrities. Many have taken to social media to praise his bravery for speaking out and to wish him a speedy recovery.

“Pete has always been so open with his fans, and that’s what makes him so relatable,” one fan wrote. “Sending love and hoping he feels better soon!”

Fellow *Strictly* alumni also chimed in with words of encouragement. One former contestant remarked, “What Pete is going through shows how much strength it takes to be in this kind of spotlight while dealing with personal challenges. Hats off to him.”

In light of his worsening condition, Wicks has emphasized the importance of taking time to heal. While he remains active in his various ventures, he’s made it clear that health is now his top priority.

“Right now, I’m focusing on getting better,” Wicks said. “I’ve had to slow down and really listen to what my body is telling me. It’s a process, but I’m determined to get back to feeling 100%.”

Wicks has also hinted at exploring alternative therapies and lifestyle changes to manage his condition. Known for his love of fitness and the outdoors, he has expressed optimism that a combination of rest and a balanced routine will aid in his recovery.

Reflecting on his time with *Strictly Come Dancing*, Wicks said he has no regrets about taking part in the show, despite the toll it took on his health. “It was an incredible experience,” he said. “I learned so much about myself, and I’m grateful for the opportunity. But it also taught me the importance of knowing your limits and putting your health first.”

As Pete Wicks navigates this challenging period, his honesty serves as a reminder of the pressures faced by public figures and the importance of prioritizing well-being. Fans will undoubtedly continue to support him as he takes steps toward recovery.

With his characteristic determination and positive outlook, Wicks remains hopeful for the future. “Life throws challenges at you, but it’s all about how you handle them,” he said. “I’m taking this as an opportunity to grow and come back stronger.”

For now, Pete Wicks is focused on healing and enjoying time away from the spotlight, confident that better days lie ahead.
