Pregnant Michelle Keegan shares rare insight into ‘boring and basic’ Mark Wright marriage

Michelle Keegan, the beloved actress known for her roles in *Brassic* and *Coronation Street*,

has recently shared intimate insights into her life with her husband, Mark Wright, as the couple prepares to welcome their first child together later this year.

The 37-year-old star delighted her fans with a touching announcement just after Christmas,

revealing her baby bump and sharing the joyful news that 2025 will be a monumental year for their growing family.

In an interview with *Grazia*, Michelle opened up about the couple’s day-to-day life, admitting that despite their glamorous public personas, their home life is refreshingly simple.

She explained that she and Mark, 38, try to maintain a sense of normalcy despite their careers in the entertainment industry.

“Mark and I feel lucky to work in this industry, but it doesn’t dominate our lives. We dip our toe in, then step back to normal life. It’s very boring and probably quite basic, but that’s how I like it,” Michelle shared.

For this high-profile couple, what some might consider mundane, is exactly what brings them joy. Whether it’s spending quiet nights at home or enjoying simple pleasures, Michelle and Mark cherish the calm and peaceful aspects of their relationship. As they look forward to becoming parents, their priorities have naturally shifted to focus on family.

The pair, who will celebrate their 10th wedding anniversary in May, have kept their pregnancy private for a while, wanting to savor the experience for themselves. A close friend of the couple revealed that the pregnancy was kept quiet for a reason. “Starting a family has been something they have wanted to do for a long time,” the source explained. “They both are in great places in their careers, and their family home in Essex is all ready. The timing really couldn’t have been more perfect.”

Although they have kept things under wraps, their immediate families have known about the pregnancy for some time. Mark’s brother, Josh, publicly expressed his excitement on social media, commenting on Michelle’s baby bump photo: “Over the moon for you both and can’t wait for our boys to meet your little one.” Mark’s mother also shared her enthusiasm, calling herself “super excited” to welcome another grandchild, and sharing the announcement on her own Instagram.

Michelle, who gained fame playing Tina McIntyre on *Coronation Street* and currently stars in *Brassic*, revealed that she plans to take some time off work once filming for the seventh season of *Brassic* wraps up. However, she also confirmed that her pregnancy would not be written into the show. “I’ll mainly be wearing a lot of big jumpers and coats to conceal my bump,” Michelle said, indicating that her character won’t undergo any major physical changes to reflect her real-life pregnancy.

Looking ahead, Michelle teased her followers about what comes next after she takes maternity leave later this year. She hinted at a “big new job” lined up, though she kept the details under wraps. Fans of the actress will undoubtedly be excited to learn more as the details unfold.

As for her and Mark’s plans as new parents, the couple is enjoying their last few months of quiet before their baby arrives. “We just want to savor these moments before our little one arrives,” Michelle said, reflecting on the calm before the storm of parenthood.

Michelle Keegan and Mark Wright’s journey into parenthood has been an exciting and eagerly anticipated one. The pair have worked hard to keep their lives grounded and personal, even as they share their exciting news with fans. Now, as they prepare to welcome their baby, they are focused on the future and the next chapter of their lives—one that will be filled with joy, love, and, of course, the occasional baby giggle.
