Relations between Prince Harry and King Charles have severely deteriorated ever since the Duke of Sussex stepped away from the Royal Family in 2020.
Prince Harry was “deeply shocked” at King Charles’s “blunt refusal to see him even for a moment”
when he was in the UK last week – and found it particularly painful as “everyone knows the real reason”, a royal author claimed.
There had been hopes of a heartwarming father and son reunion during the Duke of Sussex’s visit to London to mark the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games.
But Harry’s team released a statement early last week to say the meeting would not be taking place due to “His Majesty’s full program”, adding:
“The duke, of course, is understanding of his father’s diary of commitments and various other priorities and hopes to see him soon.”
Royal Family author Tom Quinn told The Mirror: “He was deeply shocked at his father’s blunt refusal to see him even for a moment.
“This time the rejection was particularly painful because it was so public – Harry may have issued a statement saying he completely understood why his father didn’t have time to see him, but everyone knows the real reason had nothing to do with busy schedules.”
