Meghan Markle and Prince Harry may have already put their relationship to the ultimate test.
The brave royal is reportedly helping his wife-to-be learn how to drive in Britain.
The actress, 36, had a full licence to drive in Canada and the US but that only gave her 12 months to drive legally here in the UK.
Now she needs to apply for a provisional licence and pass both a theory and practical test.
Meghan is unlikely to be driving a manual car at any time but she needs to be able to in an emergency, it has been claimed.
It comes amid reports Meghan is struggling with her heightened fame as a member of the royal family and the loss of independence it has brought.
Meghan moved to London last year to be with her fiance Prince Harry.
But reports surfaced recently that Meghan is feeling intimidated by the dramatic increase in her public profile.
Although she has been in the film and TV industry for some time, she was still able to go out and about on her own without being mobbed by fans.
Now any excursion means being accompanied by armed security in a blacked-out car.
Meghan was also forced to close down her Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts.
In particular, she misses her popular blog The Tig, according to reports.
A source said: “Meghan’s finding getting used to the new life a little tough.”
“She’s always been a free spirit and when she felt strongly about something, or just playful, she could tweet it or use her blog (The Tig).
“But that’s gone now.
“Harry told her what it would be like.
“Even so, it’s all happened so suddenly.”
Meghan and Harry have proved hugely popular with the public, drawing huge crowds during a recent visit to Edinburgh.
But Meghan’s confident demeanour in public is said to be masking nervousness behind closed doors.
Judging how to behave during official engagements is said to be one of several topics she discussed during a a “long chat” with Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, who also married into the royals as a divorcee.
A source recently told the Mail On Sunday: “Meghan may appear confident when on Royal walkabouts, but she does have some pre-wedding butterflies – not about Harry, but about her new life.
“As Diana once famously said, there is no manual, so Camilla is the best thing Meghan has.
“Camilla is happy to help.”
Meghan is also said to be finding it difficult being constrained to life in Kensington Palace.
The source added: “KP is beautiful, but when Meghan wakes up she has nowhere to go, really. “
“She can’t potter about on the High Street, attend gym classes, or jog around Hyde Park.
“Instead she is confined to yoga at home or visits to Kate and William in Apartment 1A.”
