A royal commentator believes Prince Harry is trying to act defiant and the Montecito-based couple have “made it a point to distance themselves”.
Prince Harry is unlikely to be able to speak to Princess Kate without Meghan Markle’s blessing, one royal expert has claimed.
The relationship between the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and the wider Royal Family has been strained since the duo’s exit from royal life, critics say.
Buckingham Palace confirmed in 2021 that the couple would not return as working members of the Royal Family,
and added Harry and Meghan would not “continue with the responsibilities and duties that come with a life of public service”.
The host of the ‘To Di For Daily’ podcast, Kinsey Schofield has since said Prince Harry is trying to act with defiance amid ongoing family drama.
The royal podcast host said: “I personally don’t believe that Harry would speak to Catherine privately without Meghan’s blessing.”
Ms Schofield also claimed Prince William, 41, and Princess Kate, 42, are too “laser-focused on their goals” to worry about Harry and Meghan and have “made it a point to distance themselves”.
Since announcing they were leaving the Royal Family in 2020 to eventually settle in Montecito, California – Prince Harry has released his “tell-all” memoir, Spare, and Harry and Meghan have publicly discussed life within the Royal family through a series of interviews and a Netflix docuseries.
Schofield told Fox News: “A significant amount of William’s unhappiness toward Harry revolves around Harry & Meghan discussing Catherine so openly to Oprah and within Spare.”
Prince Harry and Meghan have reportedly reached out to the Princess of Wales and King Charles following their health concerns.
King Charles is currently preparing to undergo surgery for an enlarged prostate, while Kate spends time recovering in The London Clinic private hospital after major abdominal surgery.
Despite the allegedly strained relationship, a source told The Mirror: “The King and the Princess of Wales have received support from Prince Harry and Meghan regarding their health. The Duke and Duchess contacted both parties in different ways to pass on their concern and best wishes.”
The Princess of Wales was said to be “doing well” in hospital but she is expected to remain in The London Clinic for another week before continuing her recovery from Adelaide Cottage in Windsor until Easter.
Her illness has not been revealed but Kensington Palace confirmed it was not cancer.
