Prince William was smitten by Emma Watson at first sight…Her reaction to hearing that will make you LOL

Emma Watson oozed glamour in a backless white tulle dress worn over trousers on the green carpet ahead of Prince William’s inaugural Earthshot prize award ceremony on Sunday.

The actress, 31, looked incredible in the white asymmetric number, which was made made up of 10 vintage dresses from Oxfam.

And designed by gender fluid fashion designer Harris Reed at Alexandra Palace in London.

The Harry Potter star posed for a slew of snaps ahead of the awards- which is hosted by the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, 39.

She paired her ensemble with black chunky boots and accessorised with stylish gold rings.

She kept her ‘bronde’ bob slicked back to the side and showed off a dangling gold and pearl earring.

Highlighting her natural beauty, Emma opted for a natural make-up look and smoky eye.

The floral lace detail framed her bare back adding a feminine touch to her stunning ensemble.

Since finding fame on the J.K Rowling franchise, Emma has gone on to use her platform to promote sustainable fashion and environmental living.

In 2011, she created Pure Threads- a green capsule collection in collaboration with Italian designer Alberta Ferretti.

In 2017, she also created an Instagram account called the Press Tour, to document her sustainable outfits and encourage her fans to go green as well.

She told Vogue in 2010: ‘I will work for anyone for free if they’re prepared to make their clothing fair trade and organic.’

The actress lent her name to a line of clothing for ethical brand People Tree and last year, she joined the board of directors of Kering, a luxury brand group, in her capacity as an advocate for sustainable fashion.

She also once wore a CO2 emission-reducing dress made from recycled plastic bottles by Calvin Klein and a cruelty-free coat by Stella McCartney to the Met Gala.

Tonight is the first ceremony in Duke of Cambridge’s decade-long global environmental competition with a set of A-list judges set to join the show which will see winners handed £1million for an idea to protect the planet.

Sir David Attenborough, who has supported the project from the beginning, is a member of the Earthshot Prize council, which will choose the winners.

Judges include actress David Attenborough, Cate Blanchett, singer Shakira and Queen Rania of Jordan.

William and David Attenborough will also present a new BBC show about the environment featuring pioneers who have been recognised for finding innovative solutions to the most pressing climate issues.

An exciting and star-studded group of internationally recognised performers, presenters and Earthshot Prize guests will be joining William and Kate.

Also in attendance was UK TV royalty Dermot O’Leary, who was joined by radio and television presenter Clara Amfo on the carpet.

Dermot sported a black tuxedo which he paired with smart black leather shoes.

Clara wowed in a white suit with colourful patchwork detail, she paired her stylish ensemble with black open toe heels.

The pair beamed for the cameras as they posed on the green carpet before the event.

These global stars will arrived via a green carpet, before taking their seats in Alexandra Palace’s stunning East Court Theatre for the ceremony, which will be broadcast this evening at 8pm on BBC1.

The event will be a celebration of the natural world, focussed on turning the current pessimism surrounding environmental issues into optimism by celebrating the people and places driving change – the first-ever Earthshot Prize Finalists and Winners.

The stars of the show will be the five inaugural winners of The Earthshot Prize who will be announced during the ceremony, which will celebrate the ingenuity of all 15 Earthshot Prize Finalists and their extraordinary work to tackle the challenges posed by climate change and the threats to our oceans, air, and land.

Launched by Prince William and The Royal Foundation in October 2020, The Earthshot Prize has been inspired by President John F. Kennedy’s ‘Moonshot’ programme in the 1960’s, which united millions of people around the goal of reaching the moon.

The Earthshot Prize aims to incentivise change and inspire collective action around our unique ability to innovate, problem solve and ultimately repair our planet over the next ten years.

The Earthshot Prize is based on five ‘Earthshot’ goals: Protect and restore nature; Fix our climate; Clean our air; Revive our oceans; Build a waste free world. Five £1 million prizes will be awarded each year for the next 10 years, providing at least 50 solutions to the world’s greatest environmental problems by 2030.
