Reba McEntire causes a stir when leaving the set of ‘The Voice’ with a cryptic remark: ‘The truth is not what many people believe’. What is she referring to?

Fans of Reba McEntire were a bit confused to hear reports that she had stormed off of The Voice.

She has been associated with the reality singing competition since its first season debuted back in 2011.

At first, she served as an advisor for Blake Shelton’s team and continued that role in season 8 and season 23.

Fans were overjoyed when she finally got her own swiveling chair and became a coach in season 24, but it led to unsavory Internet rumors that she had stormed off the set.

Fans who have signed into Facebook or Instagram might have seen ads with the headline “Reba McEntire Storms Off ‘The Voice.’”

Another ad featured a photograph of Reba, along with the caption, “I was kicked out by the producers for my choice? I’ll Miss Ya’ll!”

However, the fact-checking site Snopes revealed that rumors about Reba McEntire being kicked off The Voice are not true.

In fact, Meta, the parent company that runs both Facebook and Instagram, has approved and accepted money for at least one paid ad that put this fake news out into social media to confuse fans. Although the information was false, the ad ran for weeks and was still active as of early June 2024.

Users who clicked on the ad to learn more information about their favorite The Voice coach were instead greeted by a fake Fox News article that was hosted a scam website. Individuals who actually read the article were introduced to more fake news alleging that Reba had created a product named Bloom CBD Gummies or Nature’s Leaf CBD Gummies.

These gummies were said to be able to “reverse dementia” and included another headline to another fake article that read, “Reba McEntire reverses dementia solution, sparks huge lawsuit pressure on Fox, she finally fights back on air.”

However, that information was not true and, sadly, Reba McEntire is not the only celebrity affected by a fake scam.

The Big Bang Theory star Mayim Bialik, American Idol winner Kelly Clarkson, and many more have been subject to fake scams that use a celebrity’s face and name to promote phony products.

In February 2024, Reba McEntire set the record straight on claims that she was leaving The Voice with a brief statement on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter. In the post, she explained that she has been the victim of a hoax being used to peddle weight loss gummies.

“Please do not click on any articles that say I am leaving The Voice. This is not true. These are fake websites to lure people in with clickbait where they claim I have a company to sell weight loss gummy products,” she wrote at the time. “This is false. I do not sell or promote any type of gummy product.”

Fans had a variety of responses to her statement. “Okay, but hear me out, Ms. McEntire: If you did sell a gummy product, it would be a bestseller,” one fan wrote. “Can you imagine Reba Bears?” another follower asked. “Yes! Willie Weed… now we need a Reba gummy!” a third fan exclaimed.

“There is so much scamming going on,” another user wrote. “You are the reason I am still watching The Voice. You are not the only one they have lied about,” another netizen shared while other fans also voiced concerns about the use of AI in advertising.

“Crazy. One thing they do is use AI to distort a pre-recorded shot/interview. They can change mouth movement and use the person’s voice so it looks and sounds believable,” another user wrote while another follower revealed that they had fallen for a weight loss scam that featured Kelly Clarkson and were unable to get their money back.

Kelly Clarkson is another beloved coach on The Voice, although she has been making headlines for some real news about her experience on the show. In 2024, Kelly Clarkson sued her ex-husband for telling her that she wasn’t “sexy” like Rihanna to be a The Voice coach.

Fans of pop star Taylor Swift know that there has been a lot of fake news about her dating life. In 2023, she started dating the NFL star Travis Kelce, who plays for the Kansas City Chiefs. The Super Bowl event hosted in February 2024 was a big one, and not just because Taylor Swift was in attendance to watch the Chiefs pick up their second Super Bowl win.

While Usher performed the Halftime Show, Reba McEntire performed the National Anthem. Although Taylor Swift had been staying in a suite with Travis Kelce’s family during the game, a Facebook post surfaced online claiming that Reba had been keeping an eye on Taylor throughout the game and thought that she was a bit of a “brat.”

Many questioned the Facebook post, especially because it spelled her last name wrong. “Reba McIntire [sic] talks about how disappointed she was to look up at the big screen while performing The National Anthem, only to see Taylor Swift laughing and drinking and making a mockery of the event,” the post stated. It went on to say that Reba had said, “I let her have it afterward. She’s an entitled little brat.”

Reba McEntire swiftly released a statement clarifying that she never called Taylor Swift a “brat” and denied that the two had any beef whatsoever. “Please don’t believe everything you see on the Internet. I did not say this,” she said at the time. “Taylor is a wonderful artist, a strong role model, and has done so much good for so many people and the music industry.”

Although Taylor Swift did not publicly respond to Reba’s message, country music fans are still hopeful that the two might collaborate on a future album. The “Anti-Hero” singer has invited many artists to collaborate with her on some of her most popular tracks, including Post Malone, Lana Del Rey, and Ed Sheeran.

Taylor Swift will soon return to her country roots when she re-records her debut album, which was first released in 2006. Will a collaboration with Reba McEntire be included on one of her “From The Vault” tracks? Fans certainly hope so, as it would be a great way to squash the rumors that there is “Bad Blood” between the pair once and for all!
