Her eye for fashion has earned her a solid reputation as a trendsetter.
And Rihanna continued to work her unique style as she stepped out in her home country of Barbados on Thursday.
Showing her support for best friend Sonita Alexander, the 29-year-old Umbrella hitmaker attended the funeral of her oldest pal’s late grandfather.
Flaunting her shapely legs, the nautical blue piece featured an edgy high-low hemline.
Teaming it with a pair of strappy court shoes and accessorising with a delicate gold choker, she coordinated her dress with a blue umbrella, shielding her from the warm summer’s rain.
Wearing her ombre hair loose around her face, the singer accentuated her pretty green eyes with a touch of eyeshadow, accessorising with a white clutch bag.
Rihanna’s appearance comes shortly after she attended carnival last week in a sizzling bejewelled costume.
But the span caused controversy as fans accused the singer of photoshopping the image, after noticing two thumbnails.
However many pointed out that it could simply be the result of her hand moving as the shot was taken, often seen in stills of a video.
But the uproar didn’t end there, as eagle-eyed followers soon noticed Rihanna’s ex Chris Brown comment with an eye emoji under the snap.
Fans warned the Turn Up The Music singer off the songstress, following their dramatic split which saw him charged with assaulting her.
Chris was previously placed on probation after he attacked the Umbrella star, his then-girlfriend, before the 2009 Grammy Awards.
Rihanna took a restraining order out against the singer after he was charged with assault after hitting her at a pre-show party.
The vicious attack, which led to her being hospitalised, led to him receiving five years of probation.
Speaking about the distressing incident, Rihanna later told Vanity Fair: ‘I just never understood that, like how the victim gets punished over and over.
‘It’s in the past, and I don’t want to say “Get over it,” because it’s a very serious thing that is still relevant; it’s still real.
‘A lot of women, a lot of young girls, are still going through it. A lot of young boys too. It’s not a subject to sweep under the rug, so I can’t just dismiss it like it wasn’t anything, or I don’t take it seriously.
‘But, for me, and anyone who’s been a victim of domestic abuse, nobody wants to even remember it. Nobody even wants to admit it. So to talk about it and say it once, much less 200 times, is like … I have to be punished for it? It didn’t sit well with me.’
Chris said in his 2017 documentary about the incident: ‘I felt like a f***ing monster. I was thinking about suicide and everything else. I wasn’t sleeping, I wasn’t eating. I just was getting high.’
In 2012 Chris and Rihanna reconciled and dated briefly before splitting again the following year.
