On paper, Kevin Durant and Team USA might seem like they have barely any weak spots. 

However, Kay Adams is worried that they have a glaring weakness which is Grammy Award-winning artist Rihanna. 

Adams jokingly shared this concern with KD on her show ‘Up and Adams.’

Adams mentioned that she was worried that Canadian rap artist Drake could call in a favor and have Rihanna sit courtside once Team USA faces Team Canada officially. 

The idea was that Rihanna would throw off KD and the rest of his team.

KD laughed at this idea while also sharing the one thing that he thinks can get in the USA’s way on their quest for Olympic Gold.

“Nah,” Kevin Durant laughed. “I don’t think that’s a button you can press to get in our way. I think complacency is a little more terrifying that Rihanna at this point.”

KD continued by saying that relying simply on their individual talents instead of playing harder as a team is what will cause them to lose games.

Kevin Durant and Team USA are playing in Group C along with Serbia, South Sudan, and Puerto Rico for the Group Stages of the Paris Olympics. Meanwhile, Team Canada is in Group A with Australia, Greece and Spain.

Both of these teams are stacked with NBA talent but they will need to make it out of their respective groups to challenge for a medal. The last time they faced each other in an official international contest was in the FIBA World Cup 2023 in the Philippines.

Canada beat Team USA in a grueling matchup that went into overtime. As a result, Team Canada went home with the bronze medal while the USA finished outside of the Top 3.

However, it is worth noting that Team USA did not have Kevin Durant, LeBron James, or Steph Curry at the 2020 games.
