Rihanna appeared to have been taking her style cues from Kristen Stewart or perhaps even good friend Cara Delevingne during a night out on Saturday.
Skipping the Teen Choice Awards, the star instead got all dressed up for dinner at her favourite Italian restaurant, Giorgio Baldi, in Santa Monica.
But while she didn’t fail to impress in her sexy, plunging shimmery silver gown, all eyes were drawn.
to her rather odd choice of footwear: a pair of funky colourful metallic sneakers with dirty white laces.
Though the 26-year-old often opts for a more dressed-down, sporty style that works perfectly with such shoes
The evening gown would have been much better suited to a pair of strappy stilettos or even dressy sandals at a pinch.
Of course, RiRi has never been one to follow the rules, so her decision wasn’t all that surprising.
Footwear aside, the singer looked simply stunning, the silky dress perfectly enhancing
her gorgeous sun-kissed skin.
A number of layered gold necklaces added to the glam factor, with one hanging right between her breasts in the cleavage-baring number,
while she continued the gold through her many glitzy bangles and rings.
The Diamonds hitmaker wore her long dark tresses in a simple low ponytail with a heavy sideswept fringe partially obscuring her face,
the loose tendrils falling across her eyes.
Her make-up was impeccably applied as always, with a flawless golden base and complementary bronze shades on her eyes and plump pout.
The songstress was certainly making the most of a brief break from her current commitments performing alongside Eminem on The Monster Tour.
The six-date tour began in LA on Thursday where the performed to a packed house at the Rose Bowl over two consecutive nights.
Next up, it’s off to New York’s MetLife Stadium on August 16, also for two nights, before finishing up
in the rapper’s hometown of Detroit, Michigan on August 22 and 23.
The previous evening the star paid tribute to the late, great Whitney Houston on what would have been her 51st birthday.
She donned a T-shirt emblazoned with the I Wanna Dance With Somebody singer’s image during dinner at Gjelina in Venice, California.
Rihanna is just one of many young singers inspired by Whitney’s haunting vocals, while the pair met at a party not long before her untimely death in February 2012, which evidently made quite the impact on her.
