Rihanna playfully trolled her fans on Thursday while out in New York City — as they continue to beg for ‘new music’ from the star.

The nine-time Grammy winner, 36, hopped out of the backseat of a black SUV rocking a blue T-shirt that referred to her as ‘retired.’

It had ‘I’m retired, this is as dressed up as I get’ scrawled across the front of it in white, yellow and red lettering.

Rihanna hasn’t released an album since 2016’s Anti and has, instead, shifted her focus to building her billion-dollar beauty empire.

She frustrated fans earlier this week by announcing that she will soon launch her own hair line as one tweeted out: ‘You releasing everything but the album!’

And Thursday’s choice of T-shirt appeared to be her way of responding to the online outcry.

She styled it with a navy blue mermaid-style skirt, red Puma sneakers and a bright green Bottega Veneta bag.

The mother-of-two rocked Y2K-inspired sunglasses with blue-tint lenses and her golden blonde hair was worn in braids.

Rihanna was decked out in flashy gold choker necklaces and she had a sparkly statement ring on her left hand.

As for makeup, the billionaire sported a glossy lip, a dewy complexion and a rosy flush. 

She was dropped off outside a building in NYC by her chauffeured vehicle.

It’s been a busy week for the starlet who officially announced the June 13th launch of her latest endeavor – Fenty Hair – with a sleek commercial on Tuesday.

It’s still unclear precisely what kind of haircare products will be sold under Fenty Hair as the website just teases the commercial, which only had quick glimpses of containers.

‘You know how much switching my hair up matters to me,’ Rihanna – who boasts 310.3M social media followers – wrote on Instagram.

‘I’ve had almost every texture, color, length, from weaves to braids to natural – so I am launching a flexible line of products for not only every hair want, but every single product is designed to strengthen and repair all types of hair, which is what we truly need! It’s time to play and get stronger by the style.’

Fenty Hair is the latest subsidiary of her seven-year-old company Fenty Beauty after Fenty Skin and Fenty Fragrance.

Though Rihanna appears hyped about her latest business endeavor, her fans sand a different tune as they reacted to the news with anger and frustration on social media. 

‘Is this “Fenty Hair” the name of the new album or,’ X user @x_jjh1 tweeted.

On Instagram, user @highnegro commented: ‘We need FENTY ALBUM.’

‘Drop an album and I’ll see about some shampoo,’ Instagram user @kei.a.jah wrote.

Instagram user @lailaamichel commented: ‘You are literally a billionaire sister enough is enough.’

‘Get in the studio Rihanna I’m tired of this s***,’ Instagram user @sydneesarchive wrote.

Instagram user @queenbee_kimmy sided with Riri (born Robyn Fenty): ‘Y’all are not getting it, poor souls. Rihanna is finished with music. The woman is into business and busy creating generational wealth.’

Just last Friday, the nine-time Grammy winner celebrated two milestones in record sales – most diamond singles for a female artist and most diamond certified titles for a female artist – with a tweet captioned: ‘Ain’t no back n forth.’

Rihanna is producing and voicing Smurfette in Paramount Animation’s The Smurfs Movie – hitting UK/US theaters February 14, 2025 – along with writing and recording original songs.

And it’s been a little over a year since the Savage X Fenty founder – whose last single Lift Me Up dropped in 2022 – headlined the Super Bowl LVII Halftime Show in Glendale, AZ.

Rihanna and her babydaddy A$AP Rocky ‘are trying to figure out who’s gonna use what’ when it comes to sampling the voices of their two sons on her long-delayed ninth studio album and his fourth studio album Don’t Be Dumb.
