Rumi and Sir Carter appeared in Beyonce’s live session in poor health as they could hardly hold a ball (video)

Beyoncé’s Black Is King is a family affair. In addition to featuring her husband, Jay-Z; mother, Tina Knowles-Lawson; and daughter Blue Ivy Carter in the new visual album.

The music icon included brief cameos from her two youngest, Rumi and Sir Carter.

The three-year-old twins appear in the musical work in different ways.

Rumi, technically the older of the two, graces the screen during the “Brown Skin Girl” visuals with her mother, sister, and grandmother, all in coordinating floral prints.

Sir, on the other hand, is seen at the end as Beyoncé shares a message dedicating Black Is King to him.

“Dedicated to my son, Sir Carter, and to all our sons and daughters, the sun and moon bow for you. You are the keys to the kingdom.”

Beyoncé’s empowering closing message to Black youth reflects her intention with the visual album as a whole. “[My] hope for this film is that it shifts the global perception of the word black, which has always meant inspiration and love and strength and beauty to me,” she explained on Good Morning America. “Black Is King means ‘Black is regal and rich in history, in purpose, and in language.'”

The Carter twins have been kept fairly out of the spotlight since their buzzed-about births in June 2017, save for some occasional appearances in photos and clips shared by Beyoncé. Black Is King marks the latest of their special sightings, but there’s no question that fans are surely eager for the next one.
