Ryan Reynolds leaves Tiger Woods in the dust as Wrexham’s promotion story goes viral

Wrexham had a great run in League Two this season bagging promotion to League One. This is a big milestone for the Red Dragons returning to the upper echelon of the EFL after almost two decades.

Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney‘s men have found an instant connection amongst fans thanks to their perfect fairytale role.

And it seems the craze around the team has been on an all-time high after their promotion with fans across England snubbing even Tiger Woods to pick the Welsh club!

A recent survey saw 2000 English fans asked about the one sporting moment they would like to have witnessed in their life.

And Wrexham’s promotion to League One ranked above Tiger Woods winning the 2019 Masters.

They ranked 45 in the ranking above both Woods and Japan’s historic win over South Africa in the 2015 World Cup.

Meanwhile, England’s 4-2 win over Germany at Wembley under Sir Bobby Moore was the top of the last with Andy Murray’s Wimbledon win a close second.

Wrexham following their massive achievement will now look to sustain themselves in League One. The Welsh side is no longer a big fish in the small pond with the team set to face teams relegated from the Championship on a regular schedule. With a lot at stake, Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney seem to have big plans for the club going forward.

With the Red Dragons now one step closer to achieving their Premier League dream, they will have to make drastic changes to improve their standards. While the team has a decent squad, the infrastructure at the club will have to improve at a rapid pace. Club co-owner Rob McElhenney talked about the plans to improve the historic Stol Racecourse Ground in an interview with Collider.

The ‘Its Always Sunny in Philadelphia’ star claimed, “We have a plan in place right now that would work from stand to stand so eventually you get all four sides. It’s hard to say for sure, but we think we could get between 45,000 and 55,000 people in there. The whole town could come to a game. Of course, safety concerns and all those regulations are in place for a reason, but then some things just seem hurdles for hurdles’ sake.”

Meanwhile, with the team now in League One, Wrexham will also look to make some massive improvements to their squad. Phil Parkinson’s side has already started the process with the club releasing 8 players before their pre-season tour. The team will now look to sign suitable players during the upcoming transfer window with a permanent deal for Arthur Okonkwo on top of the priority list.
