Shaboozey is no stranger to success. He inked a deal with Republic Records back in 2017 and appeared on the multi-platinum Spider-Man: 

Into the Spider-Verse soundtrack in 2018, but it’s fair to say that his life has changed just a little within the last year. 

The Virginia native was credited on two songs from Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter, opening the door for a spot on tour with Jessie Murphy.

A performance at Stagecoach and an opportunity to appear on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. 

Following the release of his well received third album and the rise of “A Bar Song,” he told Alamin Yohannes of Entertainment Weekly what it was like working with Beyoncé.

“What did you learn or take away from working with Beyoncé?” Yohannes asked the Virginia native.

“Don’t sacrifice your artistic intention. I go back to the interview where she said people don’t make albums anymore. That is a real album with interludes. Everything she did with the artwork. Even when she dropped the tracklist, I was like, ‘Is this a show poster? What is this?’ It’s just cool to see her at that level of her career still being a real artist. At that level, they can offload everything if they want, and she’s in there doing everything still to this day,” he answered.

The rise of Shaboozey will continue this summer as he prepares to hit the road with Murph and “A Bar Song” continues to climb the charts. Not to mention, his collaboration with BigXthaPlug, “Drink Don’t Need No Mix,” is quietly becoming a “Song of the Summer” contender.
