The legal battle over the joint property in France, the Château Miraval estate, continues to reveal details about the personal lives of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt.
On May 9, Brad Pitt’s lawyer filed the latest documents related to the lawsuit with the Los Angeles Superior Court.
One of the notable details is that the former bodyguard of the ex-couple accused the 1975-born female fighter of causing a rift between her children and the Babylon actor.
Tony Webb, a former soldier of the British Royal Marines and the British Army’s Special Air Service,
said he ensured the safety of Angelina Jolie and her family from 2000 to 2020
and is providing security services for Brad Pitt.
According to Webb, during the time he was hired by the Maleficent star, he was responsible for arranging security for her and her family whenever they left the US,
and convincing everyone to sign a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) for the actress, including hotel staff.
After Mr. and Mrs. Smith split in 2016, Webb’s SRS Global continued to provide security for Angelina and her children.
Webb said that after Brad and Angelina “went their separate ways,” the former soldier’s business relationship with the actress was no longer as good as before, but instead tended to decline. The reason was that at that time, Jolie’s assistant, Michael Vieira, contacted Webb to say that two independent bodyguards working for his security company could testify in the family court case.
Jolie’s assistant asked Webb to stop the two individuals from testifying. “I understood that Mr. Vieira was making this request on behalf of Ms. Jolie. I explained to Mr. Vieira that I had no authority to stop them because they were independent employees, not employees of SRS Global. Mr. Vieira later told me that the call was to remind those individuals that they had signed non-disclosure agreements with Ms. Jolie. “I should have warned them that if they testified in the family law case, Jolie would sue them,” Tony Webb said in court documents.
Webb added that he had communicated the message to two independent bodyguards over the phone, and both said they intended to testify. One of them, Ross Foster, said he would be willing to testify regardless of the NDA if subpoenaed. Foster also told Webb about overhearing Angelina telling the children to stay away from Brad during visitation.
The bodyguard boss stressed that Foster and the other man were both subpoenaed by the court and both testified in the Jolie-Pitt divorce case.
The latest allegations stem from the couple’s battle over the NDA. In early April, Angelina Jolie’s legal team filed a motion in the Los Angeles County Superior Court, accusing her ex-husband of using the terms of his purchase of a stake in the Château Miraval winery in France to force her to sign an NDA regarding the 2016 assault on a private plane.
In response, Brad Pitt’s legal representative denied Angelina’s accusations, emphasizing that the NDA the actor asked her to sign was only related to the winery.
In the court filing, Brad Pitt asserted that his ex-wife was the one who wanted him to sign an NDA to keep family matters secret. In addition, according to the Bullet Train actor, Angelina always asked people who worked with her, especially employees who lived in the same house, to sign NDAs. Brad Pitt’s lawyer believes that the above confidentiality contracts can prove that the actor is right in the lawsuit.
On April 26, Angelina’s lawyer submitted new documents to the court, stating that she disagreed with Brad Pitt’s request to see all NDAs that his ex-wife signed with third parties. She argued that the transfer of other NDAs she had signed was an invasion of the privacy of other parties. Angelina called the move costly, wasteful, unreasonable, and, more seriously, abusive.
