Eamonn Holmes has been growing closer to a woman who is 22 years his junior, according to reports, after his wife Ruth Langsford reportedly ‘dumped’ him over mystery texts
Reports suggest Eamonn Holmes has been leaning on a relationship counsellor, who is 22 years his junior, for support during his ongoing split from wife of many years, Ruth Langsford.
GB News host Eamonn and Loose Women star Ruth, both 64, sent ripples across the celebrity scene back in May with news of their divorce.
Apart from expressing gratitude to his GB News followers for standing by him and Ruth, Eamonn has remained mum about the separation.
However, it seems the Irish presenter has been finding solace with Katie Alexander, a mother of three children, aged 42.
The Sun reports that Katie has spent time visiting the dad of four at his new place over the past couple of weekends.
After the announcement of his break up with Ruth, Eamonn decided to move out of their luxurious Surrey residence. It was seen that he was receiving visits from Katie at his rented South West London flat from her Yorkshire home.
Intriguingly, a photograph surfaced last week of Eamonn at a safari park in February with a blond lady spotted through the rear window of his car, reports the Mirror.
The sequence of events seemingly started when Ruth apparently discovered messages between Eamonn and an unknown woman on his laptop.
Speaking to The Sun on Sunday, a source revealed: “Ruth was completely taken by surprise when she saw the messages. She had no idea what had been going on between them. She was devastated. Not only was she very upset but she was also angry.”
Eamonn Holmes reportedly first connected with Katie after she engaged with one of his posts on the platform X, earlier known as Twitter. Back in October, Eamonn showed up at a charity fundraiser near Katie’s residence in Yorkshire and later committed to being a patron.
According to gossip, wife Ruth Langsford was livid when news about this friendship went public, as she allegedly wasn’t sufficiently informed.
As she deals with these developments, Ruth has received comfort from her own circle of friends. Her fellow TV presenter Lucy Alexander from the show ‘Homes Under The Hammer’ offered some moral support just last week.
Ruth expressed on social media how time spent with her mum and her favourite pet Maggie in her garden has been a solace. Lucy responded warmly to this update suggesting: “Just what you need – mum and Maggie cuddles… I reckon you should have a swig of Joan’s sherry [laughing emoji] love you.”
Twosome Ruth and Eamonn, once perceived as the golden pairing of television, along with their cherished son Jack, 22, seemed to enjoy an ideal life. But speculation over cracks in their marriage had been piling up in recent times.
In May came the conclusive statement from the spokespeople for Ruth and Eamonn announcing: “Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes have confirmed their marriage is over and they are in the process of divorcing.”
The long-standing couple, having been together for 27 years, decided to part ways. Intriguingly, both Ruth and Eamonn have continued wearing their wedding rings, as noticed while Eamonn was back on GB News and Ruth was seen running errands around Surrey.
Since the split, it’s been suggested that Eamonn was completely “blindsided” by the announcement, which was reportedly arranged by his ex-wife. While Ruth hasn’t yet made any public comment on their breakup, Eamonn has expressed his gratitude for the continual support from fans.
