The story follows a group of teenagers in Los Angeles who, between 2008 and 2009, get involved in a series of celebrity burglaries. Fascinated by celebrity culture and social media, they use the Internet to track their victims’ locations.

It is based on the real group of teenagers known as “The Bling Ring”, who robbed the homes of various Hollywood celebrities, including Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan, Orlando Bloom and Megan Fox.

The group stole around $3 million in luxury goods, including clothing, jewelry and art. Paris herself allowed scenes to be filmed inside her actual home, which was one of the houses that were robbed.
