Finally, the first look at Greta Gerwig’s film adaptation of Louisa May Alcott’s Little Women is here.
The stars just shared the official trailer for the film, which features Saoirse Ronan (Jo March), Emma Watson (Meg March), Florence Pugh (Amy March)
And Eliza Scanlen (Beth March) playing the novel’s sisters.
Timothée Chalamet plays Laurie, while Meryl Streep plays Aunt March and Laura Dern plays the girls’ mother Marmee.
The trailer shows Laurie and Jo’s relationship, a glimpse of Meg’s wedding
And the general rapport between the four sisters as they come of age in the 1860s.

The costumes, the banter, the sets…everything looks great:
“We’re just physically very comfortable with each other,” Ronan said of her chemistry with Chalamet, who she starred in Ladybird with, in a first look video provided to Entertainment Tonight last night. “I’m able to hit him whenever I want because I know him.”
Emma Watson shared a teaser for the trailer yesterday on her Instagram:
The film comes out on Christmas.
Interestingly, by the way, Watson playing Meg almost didn’t happen. Emma Stone had been originally attached to the film to play Meg. She ended up not taking the role because her promotional obligations for The Favourite—the film Olivia Colman won the Best Actress Oscar for—conflicted with Little Women’s shooting schedule last fall.
