Ayesha Curry, wife of NBA superstar Steph Curry, found herself in an emotional confrontation 

with French police after Team USA secured the gold medal at the Paris Olympics. 

The incident, which was captured on video, showed Ayesha wiping away tears while her mother-in-law, Sonya Curry, was seen in a heated exchange with law enforcement.

A Chaotic Scene After Team USA’s Triumph

Following Team USA’s 98-87 victory over France, tensions flared outside the arena, involving the Curry family and local police. 

While the exact details remain unclear, the altercation reportedly stemmed from an issue involving the youngest member of the Curry family, baby Caius Chai.

During the dispute, Sonya Curry could be heard voicing her frustrations, claiming that someone had made physical contact with the infant. 

The baby, securely strapped to Ayesha, appeared to be at the center of the controversy. Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green, who was present at the scene, backed Sonya’s claims, stating that an individual had struck the child’s head.

Frustration Over Access to Their Transportation

The Curry family’s main frustration appeared to stem from being restricted from returning to their vehicle. Sonya was visibly upset as she repeatedly questioned why they were not allowed to move freely. “They won’t let us go back over there where we came from,” she was heard saying. “They won’t let the driver come here, and they won’t let us go back over there.”

Despite the chaos, a translator stepped in to mediate the situation, and the French police eventually offered an apology concerning the incident with baby Caius Chai. A brief statement was issued on-site, with law enforcement stating, “Sorry about the baby.” However, Green remained skeptical, questioning why no further action was being taken after the alleged contact with the infant.

“So, even after him hitting the baby in the head, there’s still nothing y’all can do to get them out of here?” Green was heard asking.

Sonya Curry, still upset, demanded assistance, stating, “You should be helping us with the baby!” as she continued to urge officers to allow them access to their vehicle.

What should have been a night of celebration was overshadowed by the unsettling exchange. Ayesha, alongside her son Canon—who was wrapped in an American flag—stood with Steph’s teammate Draymond Green as the family struggled to exit the area.
