Teddi Mellencamp defends horseback riding after doctors found five more tumors: ‘No place for negativity’

Teddi Mellencamp, former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star, is embracing life with positivity and strength amid her ongoing battle with cancer.

The 43-year-old reality TV personality recently took to social media to defend her decision to go horseback riding,

a passion she says brings her immense joy, after revealing that doctors discovered five more tumors in her body earlier this week.

Mellencamp shared her thoughts on Instagram Story, expressing gratitude for the support she’s received from fans and reassuring them that she is feeling strong.

“Thank you all for the support. I am feeling great and got approval from my doctors to ride today,” she wrote.

“This makes my heart and soul happy,” she continued, emphasizing that her mental health and happiness remain priorities during her cancer treatment.

In the post, Mellencamp made a direct request to those who might attempt to offer unsolicited advice, kindly asking them to refrain from telling her not to ride. “If I see you at the show today and you have the urge to try to tell me not to, I kindly ask you refrain,” she said. Her decision to share this message publicly highlights her desire to live life fully despite her health challenges, and her firm stance against negativity and discouragement.

Mellencamp’s post was set to the empowering tune of Christina Aguilera’s hit song “Fighter,” which reflected her resilient attitude in the face of adversity. She reposted a picture from Page Six’s Instagram post that highlighted her cancer journey, along with a powerful message about her strength and perseverance. “I unknowingly rode with huge tumors in my brain for six months, and those big ones are gone now,” she shared, providing a glimpse into her earlier struggles. This revelation underscores her determination to maintain a sense of normalcy in her life, even during one of her hardest battles.

The reality star also shared her belief in the importance of mental health during cancer treatment. “When you are sick or have cancer, your mental health is very important,” she explained. “I must keep going and give myself joy and goals.” For Mellencamp, finding joy and setting goals are essential to her healing process. She acknowledged that while the road ahead may be difficult, she is committed to fighting to be her best and maintaining a positive outlook.

“I am going to always fight to be my best and find ways to smile and enjoy my life,” she continued. “Thanks for coming along this journey with me. I am in no place for negativity or discouragement.” Her words clearly reflect her determination to stay focused on the positive aspects of her life, surrounding herself with love and support while navigating the challenges that come with cancer.

In her post, Mellencamp also took a moment to express gratitude for the unwavering support of her family, particularly her father, legendary musician John Mellencamp. “Thanks to my dad for saying he believes in me and knows I can do it,” she wrote, touching on the emotional strength she draws from her close-knit family. Her father’s words of encouragement continue to inspire her as she faces each day with hope and determination.

Despite the hardships, Mellencamp remains steadfast in her belief that she can overcome the challenges cancer presents. Her willingness to share her journey with fans on social media not only raises awareness but also inspires others facing similar battles. By maintaining a sense of joy and pursuing activities that bring her happiness, like horseback riding, Mellencamp demonstrates the power of resilience and positivity in the face of adversity.

In the coming weeks, it will be interesting to see how Mellencamp continues to navigate her cancer journey. With her focus on mental health, self-care, and the support of her loved ones, it’s clear she is determined to not let her diagnosis define her. Through her bravery and willingness to fight, Mellencamp is setting an example for others to live their lives fully, no matter the obstacles they face.
