Teddi Mellencamp’s melanoma metastasized to her brain and lung

Teddi Mellencamp is offering her followers an update on her battle with cancer.

The 43-year-old reality star and wellness coach, best known for her time on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills,

has shared a candid post on Instagram about her ongoing treatment after being diagnosed with multiple brain and lung tumors.

In her recent post, Mellencamp revealed that a recent scan had shown

that she has “multiple tumors” in her brain, some of which couldn’t be surgically removed.

She also disclosed that there are two tumors in her lung, all of which are metastases of melanoma, the form of skin cancer she has been battling.

“These are all metastases of my melanoma,” Mellencamp wrote on Instagram, explaining the nature of her diagnosis. Melanoma, while less common than other types of skin cancer, is often considered more dangerous because it is more likely to spread to other parts of the body, making it harder to treat. According to the American Cancer Society (ACS), melanoma can metastasize, or spread, to vital organs, increasing the risks associated with it.

However, Mellencamp remains optimistic about her treatment options. She explained that doctors are “hopeful” that her remaining tumors can be effectively managed with immunotherapy. This type of treatment works by boosting the immune system’s ability to target and destroy cancer cells. The wellness coach expressed her positivity by saying, “I am feeling positive— that I will win this battle, that I got this wig (I like the short hair, just not the bald spots), and that I can remember all of Angelina’s kids’ names.”

In true Mellencamp style, she added a lighthearted message, echoing Bravo network head Andy Cohen’s famous catchphrase: “Now, as @bravoandy would say: with all due… f*** off, cancer!”

Her resilience in the face of her ongoing health battle has not gone unnoticed by her fans and fellow Real Housewives stars. Many have expressed their unwavering support for Mellencamp as she continues her fight. Among those offering words of encouragement was The Real Housewives of New Jersey star Margaret Josephs, who called Mellencamp the “strongest, inspiring queen.” Dorit Kemsley, Mellencamp’s co-star on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, also sent her love, writing, “You got this Teddi! You’re stronger than you realize. I know you’ll win! You’re a fighter, keep fighting… you have a lot of love and support.”

Teddi Mellencamp’s cancer journey began in 2022 when she was diagnosed with stage 2 melanoma. She underwent multiple surgeries to remove the skin cancer, but her health challenges didn’t end there. In February of this year, Mellencamp experienced severe headaches that led to hospitalization. A CT scan and MRI revealed multiple tumors in her brain, which doctors believe had been growing for at least six months. As a result, two of the brain tumors were removed surgically, and the remaining tumors were treated with radiation.

Despite these challenges, Mellencamp has remained positive, frequently updating her followers on her progress. On March 7, she posted a selfie with the caption, “Staples out and ready for radiation,” signaling that she is continuing with her treatment plan. Her fans have rallied behind her, sending messages of love, strength, and support as she faces these difficult circumstances.

Mellencamp’s update also touched on her gratitude for the support she has received from her family, friends, medical team, and followers. She has often expressed how grateful she is to be surrounded by loved ones, including her three children—daughters Slate, 12, and Dove, 5, and son Cruz, 10, from her marriage to Edwin Arroyave.

In the midst of her treatment, Mellencamp’s message of strength and resilience continues to inspire her followers. She has shown that even in the face of adversity, her spirit remains unbroken, and her unwavering optimism is a testament to her determination to fight this battle head-on.

As she continues with her treatments, Mellencamp is proving that she has the strength to overcome even the toughest of obstacles, with the love and support of those around her fueling her fight.
