The Apprentice star Jonny Heaver reveals mortifying way he ’embarrassed himself’ after being fired by Lord Sugar in moment cut from show

Jonny Heaver, the 23-year-old entrepreneur behind Achieve Tutoring, has shared a hilarious and mortifying moment

that occurred right after being fired by Lord Sugar on the latest episode of *The Apprentice*.

He was the fifth contestant to be eliminated from the BBC show, and his departure wasn’t without a cringe-worthy blunder that fans didn’t get to see on screen.

In the episode, which aired on Thursday night, the contestants were flown to Turkey to compete in a task involving organizing luxury experiences for corporate clients.

The teams were divided into two groups, one based in Bodrum and the other in Cappadocia, where they were tasked with creating unique and profitable day experiences.

The team that made the most money would be crowned the winner.

Jonny, who hadn’t previously taken a leadership role, was brought back to the boardroom after Chisola Chitambala’s team lost the task. Chisola chose to bring Jonny and Frederick Afrifa into the boardroom with her. After Lord Sugar evaluated the performance of the team, he turned to Jonny and delivered the dreaded words: “You’re fired.”

However, Jonny’s exit was not without its awkwardness. Speaking to *Yahoo*, Jonny admitted to a small but mortifying blunder as he made his way out of the boardroom: “I pushed the pull door. It was so embarrassing!” He was thankful that this moment was not included in the final edit of the show. “One time you cannot push a pull door is when being fired by Lord Sugar,” Jonny joked. “It’s not the time or the place, so I’m glad they didn’t show that.”

His slip-up may not have made the final cut, but it certainly added to the already intense and dramatic atmosphere in the boardroom. Jonny said he was grateful the show’s editors spared him the embarrassment, adding, “They were kind to me with that — because I feel like they’re not always kind!”

The episode itself was filled with tense moments as the teams struggled to create memorable experiences for their clients. Chisola was selected as the project manager for her team, while Keir Shave led the other. Chisola’s team had a difficult time managing the client experience, as they struggled with issues such as a lack of wine for their guests on a yacht. Meanwhile, Keir’s team took their clients on a hot air balloon ride, with Mia Collins managing the kitchen. However, tensions arose between Mia and Melica Moshiri, leading to further drama in the task.

In the end, Chisola’s team made a profit of €2070, but their clients were dissatisfied with the service and asked for a 40% refund. This resulted in a final profit of just €470. As a result, Chisola decided to bring back Jonny and Frederick into the boardroom for evaluation.

During the boardroom session, Lord Sugar wasn’t impressed with Jonny’s performance, criticizing his approach to the tour. “Jonny, your tour chat was unfortunately drier than your drinks cabinet,” he remarked. Jonny defended himself, claiming that he took initiative and led the second part of the tour, but it wasn’t enough to save him from elimination. Frederik suggested that Jonny should be fired, stating that he had a tendency to “sit on the fence” during tasks, a point that Jonny vehemently disagreed with.

Lord Sugar also expressed his disappointment with Chisola’s focus on profit rather than customer experience, saying, “You were very much focused on profit and not the customer experience.” Ultimately, Lord Sugar agreed with Frederik’s assessment, deciding to fire Jonny for his lack of contribution and leadership.

In a post-firing interview in the taxi, Jonny admitted he was “absolutely gutted” to leave the competition. He expressed admiration for Lord Sugar, Tim, and Baroness Brady, saying they were his “absolute heroes.” Despite the disappointment, Jonny reflected on his journey, stating, “I have had a fantastic experience and I leave with my head held high.”

Jonny now joins the list of contestants eliminated earlier in the season, including Nadia Suliaman, Carlo Brancati, Aoibheann Walsh, and Emma Rothwell. As the competition heats up, it remains to be seen who will be crowned the next *Apprentice*, but Jonny’s departure and his funny exit moment will certainly be remembered by fans.
