A few lucky little ones got to get up close and personal with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle during their royal tour of Ireland today.
While visiting Croke Park in Dublin, the pair chatted with young athletes in the stadium—and a couple of tiny fans got to do more than talk to the royal pair.
One child, three-year-old Walter Cullen, put a hand right on the Duchess’ face.
He also held hands with Markle. Prince Harry probably jokingly told him to stop flirting with his lady.
But of course Walter went for Markle’s hair right after that. Seriously, he could not let her go.
Prince Harry also got his share of sweet kid moments. One child played with his beard, and the scruffy Duke happily obliged.
The couple also spent time with kids earlier this week at their nephew Prince Louis’ christening. Though the ceremony honored the two-month-old son of Prince William and Kate Middleton, the baby’s royal siblings Prince George, 4, and Princess Charlotte, 3, were also present.
Though they just tied the knot in May, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been talking about having kids since announcing their engagement in November. When asked during their first joint interview if they planned to have children, Harry said, “Of course. You know, one step at a time. Hopefully we’ll start a family in the near future.”
During their last trip to Ireland, Meghan also confirmed that having children was on her mind. While looking at a display of baby products, she said, “I’m sure at some point we’ll need the whole thing.”
The couple is “very keen to start a family, pretty soon after the royal wedding,” royal expert Katie Nicholl revealed in March. “He’s made no secret about wanting children.”
