The Sussexes feud with the Beckhams is believed to have started after their wedding in 2018 while a peace offering from Victoria is said to have backfired.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s ongoing feud with the Beckhams escalated over a perceived slight from David towards Kate Middleton.

And it has also been suggested Victoria was upset at being snubbed from a wedding dinner by the pair, who got married in 2018.

Over the weekend, reports revealed the couples’ friendship had soured, with David Beckham reportedly angered by allegations of leaking stories about Harry and Meghan to the press.

But it seems the tension may run deeper than thought and could hark back to the wedding of the royal couple five years ago. 

Tom Bower – royal author – states Victoria Beckham was upset for not being invited to the dinner and feeling unappreciated for supporting Harry and Meghan before the wedding.

And Bower went on to say things took another turn last when Beckham flew from Qatar to Boston for The Earthshot Prize 2022 during the World Cup to show support for the Princess of Wales, who was in the US on a tour with Prince William. Speaking to GB News, Bower said: “David Beckham flew all the way from Qatar to Boston, to kiss the Princess of Wales…on her cheek at the launch of her Earth programme and prize, and that slighted terribly the Sussexes who were in New York at that moment trying to build up their profile.”

Bower also claimed that between 2018 and 2022, the Beckhams had felt “ostracised on a couple of key occasions”. He said Victoria “tried very hard to make up with Meghan” by lending her clothes but the Duchess was unhappy it was not a free gift.

He added: “There have been various confrontations between the two families. Harry tried to placate David Beckham but Victoria was having none of it. And worst of all, Meghan said that she wasn’t going to talk to them at all.

“So there’s been this simmering row between them. And of course now, we’ve got the Beckhams in the ascendancy in Miami having secured Lionel Messi, the great footballer for the Miami team and not inviting the Sussexes to their great party, is all coming to the boil. The clash between the Duchess and Victoria, who’d love to be a lady….so it’s going to be a real good clash between the two in America because that’s where the battle is now going to take place.”
