Angelina Jolie has developed some hairstyling skills, and during quarantine, her 19-year-old son Maddox allows her to take charge of his haircut.

In British Vogue’s March issue, the 45-year-old Oscar winner provided a glimpse into her life as a mom at home, including a tender moment when she trimmed Maddox’s long hair. Photographer Craig McDean captured the mother-son duo inside Angelina’s Los Angeles home, with Maddox sitting shirtless in front of a bathroom sink while Angelina focused on sectioning his hair before starting the haircut.

During quarantine, Angelina has been spending more time at home with Maddox and her other children—Pax, 17, Zahara, 16, Shiloh, 14, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 12. However, she admits that she doesn’t feel like the “traditional stay-at-home mom.”
“I was never very good at sitting still. Even though I wanted to have many children and be a mom, I always imagined it kind of like Jane Goodall, traveling in the middle of the jungle somewhere,” said the star, who serves as a special envoy for the UN refugee agency.

Angelina enjoys the “chaos” of family quarantine time and creates schedules to maintain a bit of structure. However, she confessed that one of her teenagers is more organized than she is, mentioning her daughter Zahara’s organizational skills.

Maddox, who returned to the United States from Yonsei University in Seoul, South Korea, earlier in 2020 after his semester was canceled due to the pandemic, has been taking online classes. Angelina mentioned that he starts his classes at 6 p.m. due to the time difference.
The British Vogue March Global Creativity issue is available via digital download and on newsstands starting Friday, February 5th.
