Charlie Woods and Tiger Woods’s pairing has won the golf world’s hearts for a couple of years now.
As the duo sets their eyes on the Willie Park Trophy, the question of Tiger Woods never pairing up with his elder daughter has grabbed the golf world’s attention.
It is well known that Sam Alexis Woods has decided not to follow the golf route like his father and brother and instead try and establish herself in her field of interest, soccer.
Following the 16-year-old’s decision to carve her path, curiosity among fans regarding her performance in soccer has been growing.
Let’s explore if choosing soccer over golf was profitable for Tiger Woods’s daughter or not.
Evaluating Sam Woods’s choice of sport
There is no doubt that Sam Woods’s decision to ditch golf has had the fans pondering the reason why she made this crucial decision. Thankfully for Tiger Woods’s daughter, this choice seems to be in her favor so far.
Sam Woods attends the Benjamin School and actively participates in the varsity’s soccer events. The senior plays for the Buccaneers squad and is a third-year player. She is currently ranked in the top 21 in 3A D11 stats. In her career so far, the oldest of Woods’s children has scored five goals in total and has assisted against Edgewood in the regional finals as well. In the present season alone, she has put two goals to her name.
The Benjamin varsity soccer player has surely had a great year. The team won the district champion title in Palm Beach, Florida, earlier this year and also won at the Ryan Rogers Remembrance Soccer Tournament in August. Along with the astounding number of wins she has achieved so far, the teenager has also formed strong bonds and friendships with her teammates. In her own words, “I love the people I have been able to meet and the atmosphere that was created.”
Sam’s most recent win has been at her team’s duel with Oxbridge Academy High School, where her team emerged victorious by a score of 6-0. However, golf lovers can’t seem to stop wondering if they will see the talented varsity soccer player at the Ritz Carlton Golf Club over the weekend or not.
Will Sam Alexis be seen at the PNC Championship?
As a matter of relief for those counting on her presence at the 2023 PNC Championship, Tiger Woods’s older daughter will be seen caddying for her father. This occasion has occurred for the first time since their last appearance in 2015, giving fans another impetus to watch the Woods family in action.
Tiger Woods is teeing it up with his son Charlie Woods this year as well. However, instead of playing, Sam Woods will be carrying the bag for her famous father. Although the 16-year-old chose a different path than her father and brother, she seems to be doing well for herself!
