Gather round, because there’s royal-adjacent wedding drama to discuss! Prince Harry’s close friend Hugh Grosvenor,
aka the Duke of Westminster, is getting married to Olivia Henson in what People describes as “Britain’s wedding of the year.”
And apparently, Harry’s…not attending. As for Prince William? Welp, he most definitely is.
According to a source, there was an “understanding between the two friends” (read: Harry and Hugh)
that it would be tricky for the Duke of Sussex to attend considering he and Prince William are in the middle of a years-long feud and barely speak.
Harry does send “his love and support and admiration for the couple” though!
Meanwhile, The Times reports that “a civilised understanding was reached between the duke and Harry over the phone” and that William will be an usher at the wedding,
which “would have been beyond awkward if he was obliged to show Harry to his pew.”
Speaking of The Times, last year, the outlet spoke to a mutual friend of Harry and William’s who said the following of the wedding plans: “It’s incredibly sad it has come to this. Hugh is one of very few close friends of William and Harry’s who has maintained strong bonds and a line of communication with both. He wishes they could put their heads together and patch things up but realizes it’s unlikely to happen before the wedding.”
Oh, and Page Six *also* spoke to an insider who said, “Harry actually got a ‘save the date’ card a few months ago but called Hugh and said it would be too awkward if he and Meghan Markle attended, so he made his apologies and Hugh understood.”
