Angelina Jolie and Zahara Jolie-Pitt Enjoy a Chic Walk in New York City

Angelina Jolie is not only a talented actress, director, and humanitarian, but also a devoted mother to her six children. 

The Oscar winner was spotted in the Big Apple alongside her eldest daughter Zahara Jolie-Pitt on Wednesday, January 10, 2023

During a delightful day of retail therapy before the 18-year-old heads back to Spelman College for the upcoming semester.

Dressed in a stylish black overcoat, Angelina held the hand of Zahara, who was rocking a chic grey jacket for the fun day out. 

The mother-daughter duo looked happy and relaxed as they walked through the city, stopping by various stores and boutiques. 

They also wore matching black masks to protect themselves and others from the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

Angelina and Zahara share a special bond, as the actress adopted her daughter from Ethiopia when she was just six months old in 2005. Since then, Zahara has grown up to be an extraordinary young woman, who is passionate about her African heritage and culture. She is currently studying at Spelman College, a historically black liberal arts college for women in Atlanta, Georgia.

Angelina has always been supportive of her daughter’s education and aspirations, and has often accompanied her on her travels around the world. In December 2022, they visited Washington, D.C., where they met with members of Congress to advocate for the passage of the Justice for All Reauthorization Act of 2022, a bill that aims to improve access to justice and human rights for vulnerable populations.

In a video interview with Ugandan climate activist Vanessa Nakate for a TIME 100 Talk in July 2020, Angelina praised Zahara for being an inspiration to her and her family. “My daughter is from Ethiopia, one of my children … And I have learned so much from her. She is my family, but she is an extraordinary African woman, and her connection to her country, her continent, is her own, and it’s something I only stand back in awe of,” she said.

Angelina also expressed her admiration for all of her children, whom she shares with ex-husband Brad Pitt, in an interview with PEOPLE for the 2021 Kindness Issue. She described them as “pretty great people” who have a significant effect on each other. “I have six very individual human beings in my home. I am so excited about all the different stages and feelings, and curiosities that they go through. Why wouldn’t you be? We’re supposed to help them figure out who they are. And you can’t figure out who they are if you don’t enthusiastically develop with them,” she said.

Angelina Jolie and Zahara Jolie-Pitt are a perfect example of a loving and supportive mother-daughter relationship, and we can’t wait to see more of their adventures together..
