Actress Emma Watson has every reason in the world to be angry about the ridiculous claims that she can’t be a feminist and pose in a barely there top for a fashion magazine.
The “Harry Potter” star and United Nations goodwill ambassador has been hit with a firestorm of criticism for baring her breasts in a white crocheted bolero jacket with nothing underneath.
A radio host tweeted, “Emma Watson: Feminism, feminism . . . gender wage gap . . . why oh why am I not taken seriously . . . feminism . . . oh, and here are my (breasts)!”
The British movie star isn’t just known for her acting chops, but also her work around equality for women.
She helped launch HeForShe, a U.N. campaign encouraging men to advocate for feminism.
Apparently, since she’s a feminist, she’s supposed to wear a turtleneck and a skirt that hits below the knee to her latest film premiere, of “Beauty and the Beast.”

These social justice warriors should realize that by slamming her decision to appear in a provocative photo, they’re just showcasing the hypocrisy among some in the women’s movement.
Since when can’t a women be sexy and also strong? If she’s proud of her body, why can’t she flaunt it? Isn’t feminism about allowing women the chance to make their own choices and not simply cave to societal pressures?
“It just always reveals to me how many misconceptions and what a misunderstanding there is about what feminism is,” Watson told Reuters News.
“Feminism is about giving women choice. Feminism is not a stick with which to beat other women. It’s about freedom, it’s about liberation, it’s about equality. I really don’t know what my (breasts) have to do with it. It’s very confusing,” she said.
Attractive women have always struggled to be taken seriously. Watson is proving to the simple-minded people that you can have a brain, care about female causes and show off your body.
Not every woman is born with Watson’s beauty, so there’s plenty of jealousy on social media. Instead of celebrating a gorgeous celeb, it’s easier to try to tear them down for not living up to a foolish social norm.
It’s elementary, Ms. Watson — keep doing your racy photoshoots and prove all the haters wrong.
